In this episode Jason sits down with Executive Chef Peter Pietruniak for a powerful conversation about mindful leadership, personal growth, and how the way we nourish others reflects the way we lead ourselves.
Peter shares his journey from ego-driven ambition and burnout to living and leading with intention, both in the kitchen and at home. Together, they explore how food, family, and presence create a foundation for healing and transformation.
If you've ever felt disconnected from your purpose or overwhelmed by the pressure to perform, this episode is a reminder that slowing down, tuning in, and leading with heart can change everything.
Peter is the Estate Chef at Rosewood Winery in Beamsville, Ontario. His journey into food wasn't a straight path, he originally studied accounting and finance before following a deeper calling toward the kitchen. Along the way, Peter faced personal challenges including addiction, ego-driven ambition, and burnout. But through it all, he found his way back to what matters most: family, mindfulness, and serving others with heart.
After working in some of the world's most respected kitchens, from Lynn Crawford's Ruby WatchCo to Dinner by Heston Blumenthal in London, Peter now leads with a focus on sustainability, team growth, and honest, grounded nourishment. At Rosewood, he's created a space that celebrates local ingredients, regenerative agriculture, and the kind of food that brings people together.
More than just a chef, Peter is a father, a leader, and someone who's walked the long road of growth to rediscover what it really means to show up with purpose.
