Everyone tells you to leave the toxic job. But no one tells you that leaving is not the same thing as recovering.
In this first episode, I share some of my own experience of leaving a toxic workplace and realizing that even though the job was over, my body was still responding as if I wasn't safe.
I talk about workplace trauma, institutional betrayal, the nervous system, and why a new job or time alone doesn't necessarily undo what happened. Most importantly, I talk about what actually helped me begin to recover and feel like myself again.
Content note: This episode includes a brief discussion of sexual assault and institutional betrayal.
