  • Episode 138: Soccer, Marketing, and the end of Ryan Reynolds
    2025/05/01

    Send us a text

Angelo, Jay, and Rhea are back to discuss the ongoing drama between Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, and Justin Baldoni and whether the gossip that surrounds a celebrity affects the way you view their work. Up until recently Ryan Reynolds was a beloved movie star; are people less likely to go to his movies now that they know what a phony he is?

THEN, it's a discussion of Apple TV+ and how it has the best shows on streaming and the absolute WORST marketing. How is it possible that you can't walk two feet without seeing a billboard for iPhone but great shows like Your Friends and Neighbors and The Studio seem to wallow in obscurity?

ALL THAT PLUS: British corner, a preview of Rehearsal, and Jay's misguided belief that promotion and relegation would work in America.

  • Episode 137: Is It Time to Break Up Netflix?
    2025/04/24

Angelo, Jay and Rhea are back to discuss the $45 Billion year that Netflix is poised to have, an unfathomable sum for an entertainment company, and if its size is actually bad for the quality of shows and movies. In the 1940s, the US Government forced movie studios to stop owning theaters, is it time for streamers to stop making their own content?

THEN, the gang discusses the latest season of Black Mirror, and the triumph of the show as a whole (well, Angelo and Jay discuss it, Rhea refuses to watch after hearing what the first episode of the first season is about!)

All that PLUS: the British segment, a review of Sinners on the teen segment, and much MUCH more!

  • Episode 136: SNL, Aimee Lou Wood, and Where We Draw the Line in Comedy
    2025/04/17

    Send us a text

Angelo, Jay, and Rhea are back to discuss the controversy over this weekend's SNL and the joke it made about White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood's teeth. She called it "mean and unfunny" while SNL has remained quiet on the subject. Was it mean? Was it uncalled for? And where do we draw the line when it comes to comedy?

THEN, the gang discusses the lawsuit that the estate of Michael Crichton has filed against the producers of The Pitt. Apparently The Pitt was originally designed as reboot of ER and was then transformed into the hit show it is today, so a lawsuit is not completely unwarranted. But, do they have an actual case?

ALL THAT PLUS: a discussion of the state of documentaries, British and Teen corner, and Angelo's review of Your Friends and Neighbors.

  • Episode 134: Morgan Wallen Storms off SNL and into a Private Jet
    2025/04/02

    Send us a text

Angelo, Jay, and Rhea are back to discuss the weird, performative tantrum that Morgan Wallen threw on SNL, walking off during the goodnights, and then posting a picture of his private plane with the caption “can’t wait to get back to God’s country”. Why walk into a space you think might not be for you and then get angry when, y’know, it isn’t for you?

THEN, it’s a battle of the oners as the gang discusses the differences between how Adolescence does THEIR spectacular single shot show and how The Studio did their own during the second episode. Would you believe that Angelo has some very passionate thoughts about this?

ALL THAT PLUS: Rhea has British AND Teen Corner, Angelo has two great reviews, and all three discuss the disaster that was Snow White’s box office.

Angelo, Rhea, and Jay are back to discuss the sorry state of College Basketball and whether or not Stephen A. Smith's prediction that the sport is dying is correct in light of the record ratings the first round of the tournament received over the weekend.

THEN, a follow-up to last week's discussion of the hit new show Adolescence and the real world impact it's having on how people are discussing things like "the red pill" and toxic masculinity. Can art truly effect change, or is this just the discussion of the moment.

ALL THAT PLUS: British Corner, a review of the fantastic new series The Studio, and much MUCH MORE!

  • Episode 132: Is "Adolescence" the Best Show of the Century?
    2025/03/20

    Send us a text

Angelo, Rhea, and Jay are back to discuss Netflix's global powerhouse of a show, Adolescence, which grabs you with a terrific hook (every episode is done in a single take), and keeps you with some of the most harrowing, authentic drama ever put on screen. Just one week after the disaster that was The Electric State, Netflix has redeemed itself with this amazing show.

THEN, the gang talks Cosm, the brand new sports venue that charges you money to watch events on a TV the size of a wall, with fidelity so good that your selfies fool people into thinking that you were actually at the game. Is this the future of Sports TV or an overpriced gimmick?

All that PLUS, British Corner, a discussion of why Science Fiction seems to be taking over the streaming world, and a review of Novocaine, the new Jack Quaid movie.

  • Episode 131: Meghan Markle, Mickey 17, and Netflix's $320 Million Bomb
    2025/03/13

    Send us a text

Angelo, Rhea, and Jay are back to discuss Netflix's new $320 million turkey of a movie, The Electric State, and the mistakers that streamers keep making with these gigantic budgets and flat premises. For the price of a single Electric State, Netflix could have funded a year's worth of Anora-sized movies, releasing one per week. Would we all rather see that instead of Chris Pratt in a silly mustache?!

THEN, the gang discusses Meghan Markle's new TV show and the internet nerds who insist on review bombing it.

ALL THAT PLUS, A review of Mickey 17, a discussion of The Studio, the new Apple TV+ show that is being called the "best new comedy in years", and much MUCH more!
