• The Fear of Raising Your Prices (And What’s Behind It)
    2026/09/21
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM747_MDM_Jul22_26.mp3 The fear of raising your prices is something almost every business owner runs into. Maybe you’ve been sitting on the edge of a price increase for months. I want you to know exactly what’s happening in your mind. That hesitation isn’t weakness. It isn’t low confidence either. It’s a paradigm — an old pattern still running the show. Today I’m walking you through how it works, why it shows up, and how to move past it. Fear of Raising Your Prices: Where It Actually Comes FromYour paradigm controls far more than you realize. It shapes your perception, your creativity, your productivity, and your logic. Your paradigm also controls your ability to earn money. The moment you think about changing your price, part of your mind starts arguing against it. They can’t afford it. Nobody will pay that much. I’ll lose everyone I have. That voice feels like reason, but it isn’t. It’s your paradigm defending the comfort of clients you already know — the history you’ve built with them, the safety of a number you’ve already proven you can hit. A new price is unproven territory. Your mind resists unproven territory by design, every single time. What Happened When I Raised My Price From $15,000 To $100,000Years ago I made that jump myself. Someone on my team wanted proof it wouldn’t work. So we surveyed the people buying at the new price, expecting to find seasoned, high-earning clients backing it up. Instead, the forms came back showing most had made twenty thousand dollars a year or less. That same weekend, we sold two million dollars in coaching. Ninety percent of the buyers were in that twenty-thousand-dollar range, and many paid in full, up front. I learned something that day I’ve never forgotten. Don’t judge what people can pay by what you’ve watched them pay so far. When someone truly wants something, they find a way to get it. Fear of Raising Your Prices And the Law of PolarityYou cannot have the problem without the solution already existing on the other side of it. That’s the Law of Polarity at work. The moment you raise your price, you create a new problem: finding the people willing to pay it. But that problem is proof the win already exists somewhere out there. The client with the money is already out there right now. Your only job is to stop assuming who can and can’t afford you. Pick up the phone. Start the conversations that let you find them. Once you see the fear of raising your prices this way, it starts to lose its grip on you. This is a conversation I come back to often. The fear never fully disappears — you just get better at moving through it every time it shows up. Episode 730 – The Scarcity Setpoint – Why You Can’t Charge What You’re Worth Episode 724 – Money Paradigms and Fear: Why You Avoid Your Own Bills Episode 280 – Raising Your Standard: Why You Can Be Willing But Not Able – Part I YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD BE CLOSING MORE SALES…SO WHY DO TOO MANY OF YOUR CONVERSATIONS STILL END WITH “I NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT”?You can have a great offer, know you can help the person sitting across from you, and still lose the sale because you can’t see where your own thinking is taking you out of the conversation. That’s your Sales Blind Spot. It can show up when you hesitate to ask for the sale, back off when you hear an objection, over-explain or try to convince, or miss what the prospect is really telling you. That’s what we’ll work on at The Elite Mind: Sales Accelerator in Charlotte, November 10–11. Over two focused days, you’ll learn how to lead when the conversation gets uncomfortable, ask the right questions that bring the truth to the surface, handle objections without freezing or over-explaining, and guide a prospect to a clear decision without pushing, chasing, or forcing the sale. • Increase Your Manifestation Power
    2026/09/28
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM748_MDM_Jul28_26.mp3 If you want to increase your manifestation power, the shift starts with something most people get backwards: time. I spend my life talking about goals and deadlines. But the truth I keep coming back to is simple — the moment you stop waiting for someday and start living inside right now, everything changes. Increase Your Manifestation Power by Living in the Everlasting NowTime is a measurement we invented to explain something we never fully understood. The only time that actually exists is now — not five years from now when the goal lands, not last year when things went wrong. When you stay conscious of that, you stop feeding your mind yesterday’s evidence and start feeding it today’s expectation. That shift is where you increase your manifestation power. You’re no longer asking the universe to catch up to your past — you’re asking it to meet you where you already are. Increase Your Manifestation Power Through Immediacy, Not FearThere’s a difference between wanting something and demanding it. Demand isn’t aggression, and it isn’t fear either. Fear says “please, I need this to work.” Immediacy says “this is mine, and it’s already done.” I learned this pulling out old call lists after a room full of silence. I would tell myself that everyone who wanted what I had was going to pick up the phone. Not hoping. Expecting. That’s the posture that grows real manifestation power — an intensity built on certainty, not on how badly you need the outcome to change. Manifestation Power Grows When You Let the Problem DropEvery obstacle you’re staring down is really your mind running today’s situation through yesterday’s file cabinet. Here’s a practice I still use: write the problem on paper, hold it up, close your eyes, and watch it drop like a curtain falling. Then take it outside and burn it. You’re not pretending the problem never existed. Instead, you’re refusing to keep living inside it. The moment you stop merging your identity with what’s wrong, you separate from it enough to let something new in. Increase Your Manifestation Power With a Grateful, Demanding FaithGratitude for what you want, as if it’s already here, is not wishful thinking — it’s alignment. The kingdom you’re praying toward was never described as someday. It was described as at hand, within you, now. I’ve leaned on that idea more times than I can count when something looked insurmountable. It has never once failed to move something loose. That kind of grateful, demanding faith is exactly how you increase your manifestation power over time. None of this works by accident, and it never has for me. It works because you decide, today, that the now is where your power actually lives. Not in the plan, not in the timeline — just in this moment and what you choose to believe about it. Episode 329 – The Impression of Increase Episode 289 – Six Steps to Manifestation Inside Episode 289 – Six Steps to Manifestation YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD BE CLOSING MORE SALES…SO WHY DO TOO MANY OF YOUR CONVERSATIONS STILL END WITH “I NEED TO THINK ABOUT IT”?You can have a great offer, know you can help the person sitting across from you, and still lose the sale because you can’t see where your own thinking is taking you out of the conversation. • The Catalyst Blind Spot: Why Winning Breeds Complacency
    2026/09/14
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM746_SBS_Series_Ep5_Catalyst.mp3 The catalyst blind spot is the one that gets you right when things start going well. I’ve watched salespeople climb out of a slump, build real momentum, and then quietly hand it back — not because anything went wrong, but because everything finally started going right. Steph and I close out our five-part series on this exact pattern. Catalyst Blind Spot: How Winning Turns Into SleepingHere’s what makes this one sneaky. You start asking better questions, you stay quiet instead of talking a prospect out of the sale, and your numbers move. Conversion goes up, confidence goes up, income gets more consistent. Somewhere in that stretch of good months, a quiet thought creeps in: I’ve got this figured out. That thought is the whole problem. The moment you decide you’ve arrived is the moment you stop doing what got you there, and your best stretch turns into your worst month. Why I Never Believe My Own Press ClippingsEarly in my career I was one sale away from a huge bonus with hours left on the clock. I’d spent three weeks certain I’d smoke past the number, then spent the last three days unable to get anyone on the phone. My mentor asked if there’d been a night that month I’d told myself I already had it won and taken off early. There had been three. He said it’s just as easy to be one over as one away. It wasn’t really about sales — it was about believing your own press clippings. Catalyst Blind Spot: Why There’s No Finish Line In SalesThis one survives on destination thinking — the idea that once you hit a number, you’ll finally have it figured out. There is no such place. Buyer behavior changes, and markets change. Fifty years ago a stranger could knock on your door and get invited in for coffee; today that same knock gets posted to a neighborhood group as a warning. You will always need to keep learning how the person in front of you thinks, because the day you believe you’re finished learning is the day your results prove you wrong. How to Catch Yourself Before You Fall OffThe catalyst blind spot loses its grip the moment you get honest with yourself. Record your sales conversations and listen back like a coach, not a critic — notice where your confidence slipped or you skipped a question you needed to ask. Separate what someone actually said from what you wish they’d said, then find the question that gets you there honestly. Take the Sales Blind Spot Detector if you haven’t; it will name which pattern, catalyst included, is quietly running your results. It’s a good problem to have — it only shows up once you’re already winning. Left unchecked, though, it can undo everything the other four helped you fix. Episode 745 – The Convincer: Why Pushing Harder Backfires Episode 744 – The People Pleaser: Why You Undersell Yourself Episode 743 – The Reluctant Seller: Why Selling Feels Wrong Episode 742 – The Sales Conversation You’re Losing Before It Starts HERE’S THE TRUTH: YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T BROKEN. • The Convincer Blind Spot: Why Pushing Harder Backfires
    2026/09/10
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM745_SBS_Series_Ep4_Convincer.mp3 The convincer blind spot might be the reason you’re doing everything the sales books tell you to do and still hearing no. I’ve coached thousands of salespeople who know every feature and benefit of what they sell, and still watch deals fall apart, because they’re pushing for a yes instead of listening for the truth.Convincer Blind Spot: Where the Pattern BeginsThis pattern runs on a belief that sounds reasonable: if you make a good enough case, the person will buy. So you gather every fact, expecting the evidence alone to close the deal. But people don’t buy because of your argument. They buy for their own reasons, once they feel understood. A great salesperson talks a fraction of the time their prospect does. If you’re doing most of the talking in a sales conversation, that’s the clearest sign this blind spot is running the show. Convincer Blind Spot: Three Places It Shows Up In A Sales ConversationThe first is pushback. The moment a prospect hesitates, instead of asking a question, you pile on more reasons and urgency, mistaking volume for persuasion. The second is selling the wrong thing. I once sat across from a car salesman who walked me through engine specs and trim packages while I sat there wanting heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and decent cupholders. He never asked what I wanted, so he never had a chance to sell it to me. The third is desperation. When you’re worried about payroll, you push harder for the yes, and prospects feel that energy before you say a word. The Story That Changed How I SellEvery salesperson who pushes a prospect into a yes eventually pays for it. Buyer’s remorse and refund requests run far higher on convinced sales than on sales made through genuine understanding. People say yes to relieve pressure, not because they wanted what you sold them. I bought a timeshare in my twenties under exactly that kind of pressure, and decades later, I still own it. The sale you win by pushing is rarely the sale you keep. The Real Cost, And Where To StartThe shift starts with an honest question: do you want to be right, or do you want to be rich? Convincing feels like effort, but sales was never about effort. It’s about listening. Next time a prospect pushes back, ask what’s behind the hesitation, and find out what they want before you say another word about what you’re selling. What you put into a conversation has a way of coming back to you. This is the fourth episode in our Sales Blind Spot series, and it’s one I wish someone had explained to me decades ago. Steph and I dig into where the convincer blind spot comes from and how to catch yourself in the moment. Episode 744 – The People Pleaser: Why You Undersell Yourself Episode 743 – The Reluctant Seller: Why Selling Feels Wrong Episode 742 – The Sales Conversation You’re Losing Before It Starts HERE’S THE TRUTH: YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T BROKEN. • The People Pleaser Blind Spot: Why You Undersell Yourself
    2026/09/07
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM744_SBS_Series_Ep3_PeoplePleaser.mp3 The people pleaser blind spot might be the reason you keep leaving money on the table without noticing it happen. I’ve coached this pattern in thousands of salespeople, and it rarely looks like weakness. It looks like someone who has quietly decided that being liked matters more than being paid what the work is worth. People Pleaser Blind Spot: Where This Pattern StartsThis isn’t a character flaw. It’s biology. Cooperation kept you alive, and as a child you learned fast that getting your needs met meant pleasing the people who controlled your world. You figured out which parent to ask when, which teacher to please, which kids to impress so you wouldn’t be rejected. That wiring never left. The core belief underneath it is simple and brutal: if they don’t like me, I’ve done something wrong. So you learn to betray yourself quietly, over and over, and call it being easy to work with. Three Places This Shows Up In A Sales ConversationThe first is price. You know the number in your mind, but a lower one comes out of your mouth, or you offer payment plans nobody asked for, or you delay the proposal for weeks because sending it feels like asking to be rejected. The second is scarcity. Someone tells you money is tight and you find yourself agreeing, mirroring their limiting belief instead of bringing them the clarity they came for. The third is rapport. You spend the first fifteen minutes building friendship instead of authority, and the moment someone’s mind files you as a friend rather than a professional, you lose your ability to help them decide. People Pleaser Blind Spot: What It Cost One Salesperson Two Months To FixSteph told me about her youngest daughter, a salesperson at a custom clothing company, who kept offering prospects the cheapest option, assuming they couldn’t afford more. That assumption was the people pleaser talking, not the customer. A mentor pushed her to practice pitching the premium line and actually believe in its value. Within two months she won a companywide sales contest and earned a suit worth thousands of dollars. Nothing about her prospects changed. What changed was that she stopped deciding, on their behalf, what they could handle. The Real Cost, And Where To StartThe financial cost is obvious once you see it: underpriced deals add up to real money left behind. The quieter cost is resentment, because every time you say yes when you mean no, you’re betraying yourself and blaming them for it later. The shift starts small. Next time someone asks you for something, resist answering immediately. Say you’ll get back to them, then check in with yourself about what you actually want to do. This pattern isn’t something to be ashamed of. It’s something to reprogram, and that’s exactly what Steph and I dig into on this episode, the third in our Sales Blind Spot series. Don’t forget to grab our Blind Spot Detector. Episode 743 – The Reluctant Seller: Why Selling Feels Wrong Episode 742 – The Sales Conversation You’re Losing Before It Starts Episode 567 – Is People Pleasing Ruining Your Business? • The Reluctant Seller Blind Spot: Why Selling Feels Wrong
    2026/09/03
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM743_SBS_Series_Ep2_ReluctantSeller.mp3 The reluctant seller blind spot might be the reason you’re not closing sales already sitting in front of you. I’ve coached this pattern in thousands of people, and it rarely looks like laziness. It looks like someone who doesn’t want to bother anyone — who has quietly decided selling is something you do to a person, not for one. Reluctant Seller Blind Spot: Selling Feels Like Doing Something To SomeoneThis one starts early. I was raised to believe every salesperson had an angle, that selling was something slippery people did to unsuspecting people. So when I started my own business, my unconscious mind treated selling as a moral problem before it ever became a skill problem. That’s the core of this pattern: a conflict between wanting to be a good person and needing to sell to build the life you want. Your mind can’t hold both at once without flinching, so it flinches toward avoidance and calls it politeness. The Value Conflict Behind Every Missed Follow-UpThis blind spot shows up first in the follow-up you never make. I’ve sat across from clients holding stacks of business cards and inbound inquiries they never returned, insisting there weren’t enough leads. There were. They couldn’t reach out again without feeling like a bother. The same avoidance shows up when you wait for referrals instead of asking directly, as if asking were rude. It isn’t. Reluctant Seller Blind Spot: Why You Accept No Too EasilyThe second place this pattern hides is in how fast you accept no. Early in my career, a couple I knew turned down a product I was certain would help their aging dog. I backed off, because pushing felt like doing something to them. A mentor asked me one question — what if you’re not pushing because you don’t want it badly enough — and it stopped me cold. I went back, and they bought. No rarely means no. It usually means not yet. You can’t stop where they stop. You Were Born a SalespersonThe third place this shows up is the sentence “I’m just not a sales person.” I hear it from owners who hand off selling to someone else, then wonder why growth stalls. But every one of us sold before we could talk — that’s how a baby gets fed with no language at all. Somewhere along the way, most of us got shamed out of asking directly for what we need. That instinct isn’t gone. It’s buried under rules about politeness that were never yours to keep in a sales conversation. None of this means something is wrong with you. It means you’re carrying values built for a different life, due for an update now. I walk through where this pattern started, and how to reprogram it, in this episode — the second in our Sales Blind Spot series. Be sure to access the Sales Blindspot Detector HERE! Episode 742 – The Sales Conversation You’re Losing Before It Starts Episode 499 – Three Steps to Mastering Sales Episode 365 – What Causes Blindspots? HERE’S THE TRUTH: YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T BROKEN. • The Sales Conversation You’re Losing Before It Starts
    2026/08/31
https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM742_SBS_Series_Ep1.mp3 The sales conversation you’re losing right now might already be over before you even pick up the phone. That’s the truth Steph Tuss and I open up in this new series on sales blind spots — the subconscious patterns behind every sales conversation you’re losing without knowing why. If a sale keeps slipping away, you’re not bad at sales. You just can’t see what’s right in front of you yet, and once you can, everything changes. Sales Conversation You’re Losing: Where It Actually StartsMost people blame price or timing when a sale falls apart. After thirty-five years combined working with small business owners, Steph and I can tell you that’s rarely the real reason. Sales isn’t something you do to someone. It’s something you do for someone. A sales conversation exists to bring clarity to a confused mind. When a blind spot runs quietly underneath the surface, that clarity never arrives. Your prospect walks away confused. You walk away wondering what happened. Nothing was wrong with the lead. The sales conversation you’re losing was lost the moment clarity disappeared. Why Sales Blind Spots Hide the Real Reason You Lose SalesA blind spot works like the blind spot in your eye. Your brain fills the gap with what it expects, not what’s actually there. In conversation, that shows up as half-listening. You hear your prospect, but part of your mind is rehearsing your next line, or worrying whether they’ll like you. Meanwhile they’re handing you the exact information you need, and you miss it. I learned this from my own coach in a single sentence that changed my career. Sales is something you do for someone, not to someone. That one shift is often exactly why the sales conversation you’re losing turns around. Sales Conversation You’re Losing: The Four Patterns Behind ItSteph and I sort these patterns into four categories. The reluctant seller avoids selling and quits at the first no. Next is the people pleaser, who needs to be liked, so they cushion the price and sell from guilt. Then there’s the conveyancer, who piles on logic and pushes instead of leading. And finally, the catalyst has nearly broken free but still gets pulled back occasionally. Almost nobody fits neatly into just one. Most of us carry a little of each, stacked on top of one another. That stacking is usually where the sales conversation you’re losing actually gets decided. What Changes Once You Stop Losing the Sale Before It StartsOnce you can see your blind spot, everything shifts, because awareness always comes first. Over the next four episodes, Steph and I walk through each pattern in depth, with specific ways to begin rewiring it. We also built something called the Blind Spot Detector. It’s a short set of questions that shows you exactly where the sales conversation you’re losing keeps breaking down, plus a seven-day plan to start shifting it. That way, the same sales conversation you’re losing today doesn’t repeat next quarter. If a sale has slipped away and you couldn’t explain why, this series is where that finally makes sense. Join Steph and me as we keep working through the sales conversation you’re losing, one pattern at a time. Episode 365 – What Causes Blindspots? Episode 355 – The Law of Polarity Episode 74 – The Real Reason You’re Not Winning HERE’S THE TRUTH: YOUR BUSINESS ISN’T BROKEN. YOUR MINDSET IS.You’ve built something real. That’s the real lesson from this week’s episode with Robert Nunez, a member of our Elite Mind program and the owner of a thriving construction company based in Philadelphia. Robert set out to find five million dollars in business opportunity every single day for a month — and what he actually found was something bigger. Who You Need to Become Before the Number Shows UpThe challenge started with a text he sent me on June 30th. He’d committed to seeking five million dollars in opportunity every day through July, and he wrote that the number wasn’t actually the target. The target was who he had to become to even see it. I’ve told our group for years: you have to raise yourself enough for success to see you, long before you ever hit the number. Robert lived that out. By the time August arrived, he and his team had surfaced two hundred forty-three million dollars in opportunity — federal contracts, affordable-housing projects, one deal worth fifty million dollars on its own. But the number was never the point. The becoming was. Breaking the Cycle He Was HandedRobert calls himself a first-generation cycle breaker, and he means it literally. Growing up between Newark and Jersey City, he absorbed a quiet rule: don’t change too much, don’t forget where you came from, stay inside the lines everyone else drew. Building a construction company that now serves government and affordable-housing clients from New York to Maryland required him to set that story down. He told me the hardest part wasn’t the strategy — it was grieving an identity he’d outgrown, and accepting that some relationships and habits simply couldn’t come with him. That’s the cost nobody warns you about, and it’s the same cost every one of my Elite Mind members eventually pays. Who You Need to Become When the Old Habits Fight BackChasing five million dollars a day forced Robert to change where he spent his time, his energy, and his attention. He stopped treating small tasks as productive and started showing up at the conferences and conversations where real opportunity actually lives. His discipline, his network, and the way he evaluated what was worth his focus all shifted with it. Emails he would have scrolled past a month earlier — a thirty-million-dollar housing project, a federal opportunity most companies never see — started landing in his inbox, because he’d already become someone who belonged in that room. Robert’s story is proof that the goal you’re setting is rarely the real assignment. The real assignment is who you need to become along the way — more disciplined, more visible, more willing to let go of the version of yourself that got you this far. If you’re circling a goal that hasn’t moved yet, ask what kind of person would already have it. That ceiling has a name — it’s your Financial Set Point. It’s the unconscious limit you’ve placed on what you believe you can earn, and until you see it clearly, it runs the show no matter what strategies you put in place. That’s what we work on at my upcoming Business Intensive in November. Over two days, I’ll help you identify your financial set point, understand why it’s there, and break through it so you can finally earn what you want without the constant struggle and hustle that’s been getting you nowhere. If that sounds like exactly what’s been missing, you don’t want to sit this one out.
