  • Did They Have an Envelope for Us? - The 100th Episode
    2026/09/03

The St. Louis Sportists celebrate their 100th episode.

College Football is here and there is no controversy whatsoever. Mizzou kicks off Thursday night – only a 54.5-point favorite – and it’s the return of Blue Horseshoe to make sense of it all. Missouri State goes deep in the heart of Texas – and someone better be sure to check on the check.

There’s chaos in Baton Rouge and across the SEC as teams (including Mizzou) aren’t sure who’s eligible just hours before their seasons kick off. And Mizzou gets a returning hoopster that they didn’t expect.

The Cardinals are picking up as many injuries as wins lately, and are still somehow only 3.5 games out of the Wild Card. Yet another exciting prospect is called up from Memphis and Joshua Baez looks to be back on the rise.

CITY notches a draw that feels like a loss, but may score big with two new players joining the team at the close of the transfer window. They face a tough Vancouver team this weekend as every point becomes critical.

All this plus the travels of Tommy Pham and the Blues have a new captain on this week’s episode of The St. Louis Sportists Podcast.

  • Too Big for His Britches
    2026/08/20

The Cardinals pass one team in the wild card race and continue to be three games out of the playoffs. A rookie makes a historic debut, then discovers baseball is hard. And around the league, a Diamondback goes on the Restricted List, and the Mariners take a 22-0 loss to the Brewers. And are the Dodgers headed for financial ruin?

The best golfers in the world come to St. Louis for the BMW Championship – and one Sportist will be there. Doug gives a full preview, and the gang discusses how a rainy summer has Bellerive in tip-top shape.

Fifty years ago, Mizzou faced quite the non-conference football schedule. My, how things have changed. This season’s non-con schedule maxes out with five-win Kansas. And Ahmad Hardy has yet to practice.

Jayden Daniels may have made one of the great athlete branding miscalculations of recent years and social media is showing no mercy. Will the number five ever recover?

All of this plus a sincere tribute to Tommy John, a requiem for the LIV tour, and the NFL sets its sights overseas in this week’s full-to-the-brim episode of The St. Louis Sportists Podcast.
