Weather affected mission operations 39% of the time. Logistics were massive deploying to Saudi Arabia. The commander of the 11th Aviation Brigade, Colonel Johnnie Hitt, are instrumental in the execution and success of our mission. Looking back, I consider it a privilege to have been one of those Air Force weather personnel. More importantly, I consider it a privilege to have served alongside the men and women of Det. 13, 7WS, and the 11th Aviation Brigade. The bonds formed under those circumstances became lifelong friendships. Through the uncertainty, responsibility, and danger of war, I also saw what I believe was the Lord's guidance and provision. What began as an assignment became an experience that shaped my life, my friendships, my understanding of service, and my faith.

Todays episode is about David Allen Fiske Sr. My grandfather. He fought in the famed "Yankee Division" in WW1. He was there in the 104th Infantry Division and was awarded the "War Cross" from France. Quite an interesting man. Very gifted, yet at the age of 20, went through some of the worst fighting in WW1. Here about our soldiers, WW1 and what they went through on the frontlines.
