When you think of church and other Christians, you may think of a wide array of people types you've known in your years of churchin'. Some have been known for their gentleness; some have been known for their lack thereof. In this episode, we'll make some Jonathan Edwards-style resolutions as we're gently confronted with this question: " What kind of Christian am I known to be? What kind of Christian am I going to resolve to be from now on?" In this episode, I'll share some Spurgeon quotes that, I pray, will spur you on to living a gentle, prayerful life in Christ. Anyone can go to church, but it takes Christ in us to be the Church. Let's get into it!

As Christians, we GET to be part of the Body of Christ. We're meant to be part of a community of believers who do life together for God's glory. So, what do you do if and when you're met with a bad application of His word? Some brothers and sisters in Christ and I have been praying about and processing a painful ongoing series of bad applications that have done damage that we still struggle to understand over a year later. But God is not surprised or struggling, and His word helps us navigate life when bad applications leave us scratching our heads. I hope this episode encourages you to meet the souls who make those bad applications (including your past, less-sanctified-than-today self!) with grace and prayer as we're all living this life for the first time, learning, and growing in Christ with eternity in our sights. Hey, church ladies! In this episode, we think through the dangers of airing out conflict between believers or within the Church (local or global) on social media. With more and more exposure ministries popping up, thinking through the implications is worth the time. Too often, we see Christians commenting uncharitably, exposing brothers and sisters in Christ to public shame and scrutiny, and giving space to public gossip and slander.

Church discipline is good and right when it's done biblically, but "Discipline done wrongly can be harmful and hurtful...criticizing the discipline from a distance, without an awareness of all the facts, can damage the reputation of the church of Christ and her leaders." The world is watching, and we have a unique opportunity that previous generations have not had: to share the gospel with more people in our lifetime than any before us ever could.

Our digital reach is far, so let us redeem the time wisely among those who know little of Christ. Let's engage social media from the wisdom and understanding that we'll stand before Him and give an account for every idle word. (Matt. 12:36) Let's work together to represent the Name of Jesus well and guard His Bride from reproach.
