  • Not Everyone Is Meant to Be Loud: Finding Your Role in Heavy Times (S2E5)
    2026/02/05

There's a lot of pressure right now to be loud and to speak out, stay engaged, and constantly react to everything happening in the world.

In this episode, I talk about why not everyone is meant to respond in the same way — and why quiet, embodied presence still matters.

I start with a simple question that's been sitting heavy in my body: Is it okay to feel joy during hard times?
And from there, I explore nervous systems, different roles in moments of crisis, loud work vs. quiet work, and what it means to become more alive instead of more outraged.

This episode is a reflection on:

    • why silence isn't the same as negligence

    • why different nervous systems require different responses

    • how regulation and presence are forms of care

    • and why the quiet work you're doing still counts

Recorded unpolished, in the moment, exactly as I was. Fuzzy socks and all.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, guilty for stepping back, or unsure where you fit right now, this conversation is for you.

  • How I Learned to Trust Myself When It Didn't Feel Safe to Think Differently
    2026/01/22

I wanted to be okay, internally, with the fact that I thought differently — and that was really hard for me to do.
In this episode of the Soul Script Podcast, I share the story of how I learned to trust myself when thinking differently didn't feel safe.

This journey began while I was still connected to the church community I grew up in and struggling with the idea of internal authority — the idea that I could trust myself even when my beliefs didn't align with those around me.

Through symbolism, character embodiment, and a deeply meaningful moment in Cambodia, I learned that transformation isn't about becoming someone new — it's about realizing you no longer need permission to be who you already are.

This episode is for anyone who:

    • Feels afraid to think differently

    • Is stepping away from a belief system or community

    • Is learning to trust their own inner authority

    • Wants to embody confidence instead of just thinking about it

    WHAT THIS EPISODE EXPLORES
    • Why thinking differently can feel unsafe

    • Internal vs external authority

    • Embodiment as a nervous-system practice

    • Using symbolism and characters to access new ways of being

    • Letting go of the need to be understood

    • Choosing yourself without needing permission

  • Learning to Advocate for Yourself In Small Ways (S2E3)
    2026/01/15

What if learning to say what you want isn't about confidence but about your nervous system feeling safe?

In this episode of the SolScript Podcast, Laura shares the vulnerable story of getting a custom power suit made in Thailand and how it taught her to advocate for herself even when it felt uncomfortable.

She explores why so many of us struggle to voice our needs, how childhood patterns shape our nervous system, and how practicing on a small scale can change everything.

If you've ever said "I don't care, you choose" when you actually did care then this episode is for you.

  • Redefining Love After Leaving the Mormon Church - W/ Guest Brian Parrish (S1E2)
    2026/01/08

What does it actually mean to love someone?

In this continuation of my conversation with Brian Parrish, we talk about what happens when curiosity replaces judgment — and how that shift can heal families, relationships, and even faith itself.

After sharing the painful fallout of leaving church, including the impact it had on my daughter, we explore what real love looks like when it isn't conditional, performative, or rooted in fear. From "lobby church" to parenting through religious trauma, this episode is a porch-talk style reflection on reclaiming identity, learning to love ourselves, and building bridges instead of walls.

    We talk about:

    • Why "being curious" might be the purest form of love
    • The quiet ways people get pushed out of spiritual communities
    • How religion can unintentionally teach conditional belonging
    • What it's like parenting kids through faith shifts
    • Why curiosity dismantles negativity and opens the heart
    • Imagining a future where Zion means unity, not conformity

This is a conversation about growth, healing, and remembering that we're allowed to change — and still belong.

  • Losing My Voice In Church - W/ Guest Brian Parrish (S2E1)
    2026/01/01

After more than a year away from the mic, I'm back and I'm starting Season 2 with the story that took my voice away.

In this episode I sit down with my neighbor and friend Brian Parrish (host of Parrish the Thought) to share the moment I realized I no longer had a voice in the spiritual space I had given my whole life to.

While teaching a lesson to a group of young women, I was interrupted and told they should not pray to their Heavenly Mother. What followed was shock, humiliation, silence from leadership and a deep ache for the message that moment sent to those girls about their worth, their voice, and their relationship with the divine.

This is part one of a two-part conversation. In the second episode, I share what life looked like after stepping away how it changed my marriage, my kids, and the way I experience God.

If you've ever tried to belong while holding parts of yourself back… I think you'll feel this one.
