After more than a year away from the mic, I'm back and I'm starting Season 2 with the story that took my voice away.
In this episode I sit down with my neighbor and friend Brian Parrish (host of Parrish the Thought) to share the moment I realized I no longer had a voice in the spiritual space I had given my whole life to.
While teaching a lesson to a group of young women, I was interrupted and told they should not pray to their Heavenly Mother. What followed was shock, humiliation, silence from leadership and a deep ache for the message that moment sent to those girls about their worth, their voice, and their relationship with the divine.
This is part one of a two-part conversation. In the second episode, I share what life looked like after stepping away how it changed my marriage, my kids, and the way I experience God.
