  • i was lying to everyone about my drinking
    2026/03/06

    Watch the video version HERE.

I spent years living a lie, hiding a drinking problem that felt like a lead weight on my conscience. In this episode, I’m stripping away the secrecy and sharing the exact lies I told to keep my addiction hidden.

I’m breaking down the "moderation" traps, the morning drinking habits, and the rock-bottom moments—from a narcissistic relationship to a scary health wake-up call—that finally forced me to get honest. If you’re exhausted from carrying your own secrets, this is how I finally escaped the cycle and found a life of total authenticity.

  • My story: why i quit drinking (and how i did it)
    2026/03/03

    Watch the video version HERE.

I'm walking you through the good, the bad, and the ugly on my journey with alcohol. From developing a drinking problem during my relationship with a narcissist, to intensifying my drinking after an injury, to finally getting sober -cold turkey on June 20th, 2024.

Welcome to The Sober Scoop, a platform designed to help people get sober and stay sober. My name is India Gants, and I created this channel to be a resource for people who want to quit drinking, but don't know where to begin. I didn't do AA or rehab, so my approach is a little unorthodox, but I hope that it opens your eyes to the different strategies and outlooks that can exist in sobriety.

  • Alcohol is ruining your sleep
    2026/02/10

Alcohol doesn’t actually give you restful sleep -it sedates you. It can keep you in lighter, fragmented sleep and reduce REM, the stage where your brain restores mood and energy.

So if you wake up at 3am or feel groggy every morning, alcohol may be part of the reason. Removing it often helps your sleep regulate again -and better sleep improves almost everything!

  • Do you need AA to get sober?
    2026/02/05

    Click to watch on YouTube

Today we are diving into why I personally did not do AA. While I believe it's a great option for some people, it wasn't for me. And I actually think the thought of having to attend an AA meeting is part of what kept me from getting sober... I didn't want to sit in a room with other sober people and openly call myself an alcoholic.

So today, I'm explaining why it wasn't for me, and how you can get sober with or without AA. There's no one "right way" to get sober.
