    You might notice that I rarely use the words “alcoholic” or “addict” in my episodes -and there’s a reason for that.

    In this episode, I’m sharing why I personally don’t identify with these labels, what they mean to me, and why I believe you can be sober without seeing yourself as diseased, sick, or powerless over alcohol.

    And to be clear: if these words resonate with you, that’s great! This isn’t about telling you what you should or shouldn’t call yourself. It’s about knowing that you have a choice.

    I used to blame my ailments on ANYTHING other than drinking: Throwing up? -must be food poisoning. Loosing control of my bowels? Must be a gut health issue like IBS. Alcohol was my savior, so it couldn't possibly be causing me all this harm, right? WRONG. Little did I know, alcohol was at the root of all of these issues & more. And sobriety is what revealed that to me.
