Just after the one-year anniversary of Rebecca Mitchell’s son Jonathan’s stillbirth, she came across a baby’s obituary in the Dallas newspaper and felt compelled to send the grieving mother a sympathy card. That simple act sparked a powerful friendship rooted in shared sorrow. Within weeks, they connected with two other mothers who had also experienced the unimaginable loss of a baby.

What began as a few phone calls, emails, and meetups soon blossomed into something more — a community of healing. That’s when M.E.N.D. (Mommies Enduring Neonatal Death) was born.

In this episode, Rebecca shares her powerful journey through grief, how M.E.N.D. came to life, and the incredible impact it has made over the past 24 years. With chapters across the country, M.E.N.D. now offers monthly support groups, remembrance ceremonies, and education for healthcare providers on compassionate care for families after loss.

Rebecca also shares how you can start a M.E.N.D. chapter in your own community — because no one should have to grieve alone.

To all who find themselves needing M.E.N.D., her message is clear: You are not alone. You are deeply loved, and you are surrounded by women who truly understand.

    2025/08/05

    Send us a text

In this powerful and emotional episode, I’m joined by Linda Znachko, founder of He Knows Your Name ministry and author of the award-winning book He Knows Your Name: How One Abandoned Baby Inspired Me to Say YES to God.

What began as heartbreak over a baby abandoned in a dumpster became a calling that reshaped Linda’s life. She couldn’t bear the thought of a child leaving this world without dignity—and so began her mission to ensure that every life, no matter how short, is seen, named, and honored.

💔 Hear how God led Linda to give that baby a proper burial and how that one "yes" became the foundation for a ministry that now brings names, dignity, and honor to countless children.

Founded in 2009, He Knows Your Name is rooted in the belief that every life is sacred—whether a child took a breath or not. Linda has been called not through credentials, but through God’s equipping, to be an advocate for life—often, at the grave.

Linda also works alongside Safe Haven Baby Boxes, raising awareness about the Safe Haven Law and educating communities on safe, life-giving alternatives for infants in crisis.

🕊️ This episode is a must-listen if you believe in the power of honoring life, saying yes to God’s nudges, and making space for the voiceless to be remembered.

  • 52 | Jen Rowray-Healthy Birth Day | Stillbirth is Preventable: Why We're Returning to the Hill to Fight for Families
    2025/07/29

    Send us a text

In this short but powerful episode, I’m joined by Jen Rowray of Healthy Birth Day, Inc. and Count the Kicks to talk about an important cause—stillbirth prevention. I share my plans to travel to Washington, D.C. from September 17–19 to advocate for legislative change and life-saving awareness. One of the key efforts we’re supporting is the Shine for Autumn Act, which seeks to improve stillbirth data collection—something critically needed, as many stillbirths go unrecorded, hindering public health efforts to prevent them. The act also calls for increased access to fetal autopsy training to address the nationwide shortage of perinatal pathologists, and it aims to bring much-needed education and awareness to parents—many of whom have never even heard of stillbirth or prevention until they’ve experienced it firsthand. While in D.C., we will talk to legislators about the change we need to save lives—sharing our personal stories and the proven data that has already helped prevent countless stillbirths. We also discuss National Stillbirth Prevention Day, observed on September 19th, a day dedicated to honoring families affected by stillbirth and promoting initiatives to save lives. Additionally, we highlight the exciting launch of Count the Kicks in Louisiana, a state that loses an average of 344 babies to stillbirth each year. With its proven impact, Count the Kicks has the potential to save 1 in 3 at-risk babies—an estimated 97 lives annually in Louisiana alone. Whether you want to join us in D.C., support efforts in your local community, or help from home, this episode shows how you can be part of this life-saving movement.

Have you ever felt stuck after trauma—trapped in panic, fear, or constant survival mode? In this powerful episode, I sit down with Meg Roland, a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor with Clint Davis Counseling, to unpack what’s really happening in our brains after trauma—and why it can feel impossible to move forward.

Meg shares the same insight that brought me peace at a women’s retreat and helped me understand the deep effects of losing my daughter, Julianna Grace. For years, I didn’t realize that unresolved family trauma had already impacted my mental health long before that heartbreaking day. I nearly gave up—but God had other plans.

Through a compassionate and faith-based lens, Meg explains the importance of community, connection, and the healing power of secure attachment to both God and others. Her approach blends logic and emotional honesty to help us move toward wholeness—body, mind, and soul.

  • 47 | Texas State Representative Mihaela Plesa | Everly’s Law: A New Standard for Grief, Compassion, and Change
    2025/06/24

    Send us a text

In this powerful episode, I sit down with Texas Representative Mihaela Plesa, the woman behind Everly’s Law (HB 37)—a groundbreaking bill that lays the foundation for improved prenatal bereavement care in Texas and, we hope, nationwide.

This landmark legislation was inspired by a heartfelt conversation during her campaign—when a neighbor vulnerably shared her story of losing her baby, Everly Grace Talman. That moment became the seed of real change. Everly’s Law ensures that families facing stillbirth, neonatal death, or fetal demise are met with compassionate care, counseling, and innovative bereavement technology. As of now there is no standard of care.

Right now, there is no consistent standard of care. Too often, families are rushed out of the hospital, their time with their baby cut short—leaving wounds that never fully heal. Everly’s Law changes that. It ensures families receive compassionate support, access to bereavement technology, and time to grieve with dignity.

Representative Plesa walks us through what it took to pass this life-changing bill, how it will be implemented across hospitals by September 1, 2025, and why this is only the beginning.

👉 CALL TO ACTION: Let’s make this the standard in every state.
Share this episode with your local lawmakers. Contact your legislators. Let them hear this story, share your story, so they can take action. Because every family deserves dignity in their grief—and care that truly honors their loss.
