McGuire is terrific here, proving she can go dark, despite Hollywood often casting her as the “nice girl.” The supporting cast is terrific too, with Barney Phillips as Captain Detective Pringle, Jack Kruschen as Lieutenant Cole, and William Conrad as the district attorney.
