At the Paris 2024 Olympic Games Sarah Voss was the only female artistic gymnast to represent team Germany in the sport of gymnnastics. In May 2025 Andreas Toba performed his final international gymnastics routine for Germany at the European championships in Leipzig. Andy won the silver medal in front of a home crowd and announced his retirement from the sport of men's artistic gymnastics following an incredible career. He has represented Germany at four Olympic Games and competed at the very highest level in 22 major championships events. His father Marius Toba competed at three Olympic Games himself and has helped guide his son Andreas through the many challenges of elite level sport. I was lucky enough to compete alongside Andy during the 2013 German Bundesliga winning the league title with TV Wetzgau and was able to learn a great deal from him about being a strong leader. And this is his story.
