• $250M PER YEAR From Referrals?
    2026/07/23

They are generating $250M per year… from referrals and repeat business.

I sat down with Josh Sparks, Chairman of the ~$600M roofing portfolio called Infinity Home Services (IHS) to learn exactly how 40-60% of their revenue is word of mouth.

While some companies are struggling for leads, IHS is growing and referrals are a huge reason why.

Josh isn’t shy to share what’s worked for them because he says, “Everybody has your strategy. Nobody has your execution.”

    Watch this interview to learn:

    - Why most referral programs fail
    - The ‘SMART’ framework he’s been using for 30 years
    - His best advice to drive referrals that anyone can use

It’s been a tough year for a lot of roofers, and I hope this video helps you drive more word-of-mouth business.

P.S. Josh is right… Strategies don’t win, execution does. If you want to surround yourself with powerful strategies plus a community dedicated to executing at a high level, then the Roofing STRONG Alliance™ community may be exactly what you’ve been searching for: https://rsa.pro/

  • Homeowners Actually Want to Buy THESE 'Good, Better, Best' Roof Packages
    2026/07/21

Have you noticed how much harder it feels to get homeowners to make a decision lately?

    They're collecting more estimates.

    Comparing more options.

    Taking longer to decide.

And in many cases... doing nothing at all.

I recently heard about a homeowner who collected 12 roofing estimates.

If every contractor presented three options, that homeowner was comparing 36 different roof packages.

No wonder so many homeowners feel overwhelmed.

    Here's the surprising part...

The problem may not be your price.

    And it isn't your products.

It's often how the packages are built and presented.

In today’s new video, I break down the simple framework to make it even easier for homeowners to choose the best one (for them).

    Inside the video, you'll learn:

    • The 4 building blocks every roof package should include
    • How to structure your unique Good, Better, Best packages
    • Why homeowners tend to keep choosing one package over the others
    • The pricing psychology that helps homeowners compare options with confidence
    • A few simple changes you can make that may improve both your close rate and average sale

If your sales team is presenting multiple options, this is a video you'll want everyone to watch.

    Watch the video here.

P.S. Today’s roofing competition is feeling higher pressure than before. Roofers are having to adapt in real time. Whether it’s sales practices, lead generation, hiring, or even working through the storm damage process. We’re doing it together inside our community: The Roofing STRONG Alliance™. • Do Shingle Ratings & Warranties Actually Drive Sales? (w/ John Senac)
    2026/07/14

How do shingle ratings and warranties actually drive sales?

First, they are not the same thing, and many roofers are getting this wrong.

Ratings = “This has been tested.”

Warranties = “This company backs it.”

    Why does this matter?

    Because homeowners aren’t buying roofs.

They’re buying what feels like certainty.

If you can’t explain this properly to homeowners, they will not understand your value.

But if you get this right, you could be the one roofer that stood out from everyone else.

  • Control Your Leads! 5 Steps to Build Your Own Roofing Call Center
    2026/07/08

One of the most frustrating parts of running a roofing company right now is feeling like someone else controls your growth.

    Maybe it's the lead company.

    Maybe it's the marketing agency.

Maybe it's a referral source that's slowed down.

Or maybe it's the simple reality that every lead seems to cost more than it did a year ago.

When leads get tight, most contractors react the same way:

    "We need more leads."

But in many cases, that's not actually the problem.

    The real problem is control.

When your business depends entirely on outside sources for opportunities, you're constantly reacting instead of proactively creating growth.

That's exactly why I sat down with RSA mentor Kody Landals.

After building and scaling an in-house call center for his own roofing company, Kody went on to help implement the same systems across multiple roofing brands.

Watch this interview where Kody breaks down the 5-step framework for building your own roofing call center.

A few of the topics we cover:

    • The first numbers you need to know before spending a dollar on leads
    • The technology stack that makes an in-house call center possible
    • Why hiring for personality beats hiring for call center experience
    • How to create scripts, scorecards, and accountability systems that actually work
    • The daily metrics that tell you whether your lead generation is healthy—or headed for trouble

If you're looking for more control, more predictability, and a practical framework for building an internal lead generation engine, I think you'll get a lot from this one.

    Stay strong.

P.S. Kody is working with contractors like you on lead generation, call center builds, phone sales, and scaling. If you want to join Kody, the other RSA mentors, and surround yourself with a community of value-aligned roofers growing together, then joining The Roofing STRONG Alliance™ community might be for you: https://rsa.pro/

  • 3 Trends Roofers Are Whispering About Right Now & What This Could Mean
    2026/06/30

Have you noticed it feels harder to get homeowners to make a decision lately?

Maybe you've watched estimates sit longer than they used to.

Maybe you've seen homeowners choose repairs over replacement.

Maybe lead costs are climbing while opportunities feel harder to come by.

    You're wondering...

"Is this just happening to me, or is something bigger going on?"

I had the opportunity to spend time with roofing contractors from across the country at the Florida Roofing & Sheet Metal Association Annual Convention.

In conversations at the TAMKO booth, during an industry panel, and at a private gatherings with contractors, I kept hearing these same 3 themes over and over again.

And while none of us has a crystal ball, these trends may be signaling something important about where our industry is today and where it could be heading next.

In this new video, I break down:

    1) How homeowners are using AI to compare and choose roofing estimates
    2) How sales cycles are stretching to two and even three years in some markets
    3) How and why repairs are becoming a larger part of the conversation as homeowners delay replacement decisions

Most importantly, I share what I believe the opportunity is for roofing companies willing to adapt.

Because while some contractors see these trends as threats...

The strongest companies will recognize them as signals.

Signals to improve their sales process, better serve homeowners, and run leaner, smarter businesses.

    The good news?

Every home still has a roof.

And every roof will eventually need to be replaced.

The question isn't whether opportunity exists.

The question is whether we're preparing ourselves for what's next.

  • Homeowners Are Using AI to Compare Roof Estimates. I Tested It.
    2026/06/25

Homeowners are now using AI to compare roof estimates.

That means that AI could be advising your homeowners on which roofer to choose.

And from the conversations I’ve been having, it sounds like this is becoming even more common.

I wanted to know exactly what AI was saying to homeowners, so I ran the experiment myself.

I fed three real roof estimates into ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini and I documented everything.

Watch this new video to see my test results:

    1) The 7 things AI looks for when comparing roof estimates
    2) How estimates that don’t include attic ventilation details get “red flagged”
    3) The specificity AI expects on warranties, flashing, ice & water shield, and more
    4) The details about the cleanup process that AI seems to want in an estimate
    5) The 3 common questions AI is prompting homeowners to ask their contractors (these were the most surprising to me)

This emerging trend is actually great news for contractors who are willing to adapt.

Because what AI flagged is very fixable.

And if you adapt before your competitors do, your estimate could become the one AI points to as the winner.

  • Hidden Roofing Leads? 7 Ways to Get NEW Sales WITHOUT Buying Leads
    2026/06/23

    Leads are down.

    Marketing costs are up.

And it feels like every week there's another roofing company willing to bid a roof for less than what you'd charge just to cover material and labor.

Lots of roofers are asking the same question, "Where can I get more leads?"

But what if I told you there’s an easier way to drive sales without buying more leads?

The leads aren't gone. They're hiding. And they're a lot closer than you think.
Right now, sitting inside your CRM, there are real homeowners who showed interest and never said no.

    They just... went quiet.

I sat down with my journal and mapped out 7 techniques I've tested over the years to create sales seemingly out of thin air.

And I put it all into this brand new video for you.

    Here's a taste of what's inside:
    1) The simple rehash technique that re-injects life into cold opportunities (with word-for-word text templates you can use today)
    2) How to run a promotion or special offer that gives people a reason to act now
    3) A free offer reframe that excites homeowners to say yes even if they said no before
    4) How a true price increase notice can encourage people to take action today
    5) New payment plan messaging that opens doors for budget-conscious buyers
    6) A repair conversation opener that gets you back in the home with zero pressure
    7) How to revitalize old estimates with one simple question that closes deals

    These aren't complicated strategies.

They don't require a big budget or a new lead source.

They just require knowing where to look and what to say when you get there.

P.S. If you enjoy practical sales, leadership, recruiting, and business-growth training built specifically for roofing contractors, I'd love to invite you to join us inside the Roofing STRONG Alliance™ (RSA).
