このコンテンツについて
In the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood, the path to higher degrees is not only a journey of inner transformation but also one of broadening one's perspective through the physical act of travel. It is said that to truly understand the grandness of the universe, one must experience it firsthand. Traveling opens the eyes of the soul, allowing one to witness the diverse ways of life, beliefs, and cultures that span across the globe. In this shared journey of discovery, we come to understand that, despite our differences, we are all united in our divine essence.
For candidates seeking the higher degrees of the Brotherhood, travel is a requirement—not just as an opportunity for adventure, but as a spiritual tool that shapes the very foundation of tolerance, wisdom, and humility. Through this process, we realize that the unity of all beings is not a concept to be understood only in theory but one to be experienced and lived.
Travel: A Gateway to Understanding the Grandeur of the Universe
Travel is an opportunity to witness the vastness and magnificence of the world, and to immerse oneself in diverse cultures, philosophies, and practices. In the same way that the Cosmic Ocean (the working tool from the Initiate degree) represents the infinite potential of the universe, travel allows us to experience the expansive nature of life, moving beyond our personal confines to connect with the universal consciousness that flows through all.
In the Bible, Jesus’ teachings encourage us to go forth into the world to learn and share wisdom:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19)
This call to explore and connect with others transcends religious and cultural boundaries. It reflects the deeper truth that we are all part of the same divine whole.
Similarly, in the Torah, we are reminded that our journey is not just about our immediate surroundings, but the wider world and its inhabitants.
“And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words which I command you today shall be upon your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.” (Deuteronomy 6:5-7)
Traveling, experiencing different ways of life, and sharing wisdom across borders helps fulfill this command to learn, teach, and love across all distances and peoples.
Fostering Tolerance Through Exposure
The higher degrees of the Brotherhood emphasize that to walk the path of unity, one must first encounter the full spectrum of human experience. Traveling exposes us to different ways of life, and, more importantly, it helps us embrace our shared humanity.
The Sufi tradition speaks to this truth in the following way:
“When you are on the path of love, all human distinctions—race, culture, religion, background—become insignificant. You see only the divine spark in every being.”
Through travel, one learns that our differences are not barriers, but opportunities for growth. Every culture, every belief, every practice is a reflection of the divine. By embracing these differences with love and humility, we come to understand the oneness of all.
In the Sacred Atlantean Brotherhood, candidates of the higher degrees are encouraged to travel to distant lands, meet their brothers and sisters from different countries, and receive the knowledge and wisdom that they bring with them. This global exchange fosters an environment where tolerance and unity become natural, not because they are taught, but because they are lived and experienced.
