  • Red Alert: Who Can Help Pave the Road to Healing?
    2025/10/22

Dudi “David” Lev joins us from Israel to share a powerful story of recovery and resilience. A veteran IDF soldier whose battlefield included his own neighborhood, Dudi suffered severe physical and psychological wounds while defending his community from persistent terror threats. His account reveals the toll of living under constant danger and the strength required to rebuild life and relationships after severe, life-threatening trauma.

In the days since the remaining living hostages were freed from Hamas captivity, the country has erupted in relief and gratitude. Celebrations have mingled with sober reflection as Israelis embrace a fragile peace and begin the long work of healing. The collective exhale across the nation marks a hopeful first step toward resilience, recovery, and honoring the lives forever altered by this trauma.
Dudi shares how Friends of the IDF (FIDF) played a pivotal role in his recovery after severe injury and the relational strain that often follows trauma. While his body was treated by the most skilled medical teams, it was the FIDF support that helped steady his mind and rebuild connections within his community.

Across Israel, people are moving through different stages of recovery from terror, war, loss, and injury, and FIDF provides practical, compassionate services to every Israeli soldier and civilian alike—wherever they are on the path to healing.
Dudi generously shares his story as one example of how the FIDF is serving the people of Israel—the warriors, the civilians, the families—the entire nation. The war may seem to be over, but the wounds run deep, healing is a long journey, and Dudi’s story, with the assistance of the FIDF professionals, reveals to us the ongoing need Israelis have for our support, prayers, and encouragement.

  • Red Alert: Are You Rejoicing? Prayers are Answered!
    2025/10/15

By now, you are aware and rejoicing over the return of the 20 living hostages held captive in Gaza. Each returning to the warm embrace of family, nation, and world. We also pray for those collecting the remains of their loved ones lost in Gaza so that they may be laid to rest in a proper burial. Only now can all of Israel begin to breathe and look towards the road to healing.
On October 4th, 2025, the Israeli American Council (IAC) DC chapter and Bender Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Washington hosted an October 7th commemoration that honored the victims, survivors, and families affected by the horrid terror attack in Israel on October 7, 2023. During this event, we were all hopeful that the then-budding deal for peace and the return of the hostages would come to fruition. Indeed, we have seen that reality as of October 13th.
My participation in the event included the privilege of interviewing Daniel Neutra, brother of Omer Neutra. Omer was a 21-year-old lone soldier serving in the IDF on the Gaza border as a tank commander on October 7th. This New Yorker, born to Israeli parents, was on active duty that horrible day of October 7th. Omer was abducted into Gaza and later was confirmed dead, and his body remained in Gaza until the deal was recently brokered to return all captives to Israel.
In today’s Report, Daniel shares with the community the memory of his big brother, Omer.

As of Oct. 15, please continue to pray for the families of those 21 Hamas victims still NOT returned to their families to be laid to rest. Omer is one of them.

  • Red Alert: Why Watch an October 7 Documentary?
    2025/10/02

Denial, whitewashing, and even justification of the October 7 atrocities committed by terrorists and civilians from Gaza against Israeli citizens are the current narratives among many in universities, politics, the news, and entertainment.

How do we counter a movement with such influence on society?
Join us today as we talk with our friend Igal Hecht of Chutzpa Productions. Igal’s October 7 documentary, The Killing Roads, is a labor of love in the aftermath of terror.

Learn why the events of October 7, 2023, must not be lost to revisionists’ agenda-driven narratives and untold stories must be told and retold so we never forget—the first step in assuring “never again.”

The Jerusalem Connection is hosting Igal in the DC area on October 4, 6, and 7, 2025. Check our social medias (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and X) for the details.

  • Barry Shaw, Israel, and Charlie Kirk
    2025/09/18

Scholar, researcher, and writer Barry Shaw of The Israel Institute of Strategic Studies & The View from Israel joins the program to discuss the senseless assassination of Charlie Kirk, a 31-year-old man dedicated to his faith in Jesus, his family, and truth.

Charlie was a devout follower of Christ. Grounded in Scripture and sharpened by a deep understanding of history and current affairs, he became a bold commentator on the moral and ethical crises confronting the globe.

Charlie’s understanding of Israel—both through the lens of Scripture and the realities of modern geopolitics—made him a resolute ally of the Jewish people. His convictions weren’t born of convenience or political expediency, but of a sincere belief in the biblical covenant and a clear-eyed view of history’s lessons. Guided by faith and fortified by reason, Charlie became a vocal advocate against the global surge in antisemitism. He consistently called out the corrosive narratives pushed by mainstream media, academia, and political elites—narratives that distort Israel’s role and downplay the existential threats it faces. In a time when truth is often sacrificed for ideology, Charlie stood firm, defending Israel’s right to exist, to protect its people, and to be recognized as a beacon of values in a hostile world.

Charlie Kirk’s visits to Israel weren’t just symbolic—they were transformative. He traveled there twice, each time returning with insights that challenged the dominant cultural narratives often pushed by Western media and academia. In his own words, Kirk described Israel as a place that “strengthened my faith, made the Bible pop into reality, and gave me the most precious memories with Erika.” He saw Israel not only as a geopolitical ally but as living proof of God’s covenant—a spiritual anchor in a world adrift. Kirk’s revelations stood in stark contrast to the growing skepticism and hostility toward Israel in many circles and in classrooms.

In this episode, Barry conveys the heartfelt response from Israelis in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s tragic death—a loss that reverberates far beyond the Christian community. What stands out is not uniformity of belief, but a shared recognition of Charlie’s humanity and courage. Despite differing views on theology or philosophy, Israelis from across the spectrum have united in mourning a man they saw as a true friend—someone who stood for truth, even when it was unpopular. Their response is a powerful reminder that even in a world fractured by ideology, there remains common ground: the ability to honor life, respect conviction, and uphold dignity across disagreement. It also underscores a deeper truth—that our public discourse must be rooted in the ethical foundations of the Judeo-Christian tradition.
