  • Mentality Monday: The People-Pleasing Project, Ep. 3 - Joshua and Niki on Survival Mode
    2026/05/26
Mentality Monday on a Tuesday! (we took Memorial Day off like everyone else.) Joshua and Niki get together once again for a mental health conversation — this one once again as part of TRB's People-Pleasing Project, aiming to shine a light on people-pleasing behaviors and how to emerge out of them with more self-awareness and healthy self-respect. Today's conversation focuses on survival mode: a behavioral loop brought on by prolonged stress that can yield very negative effects on us over the long-term, both mentally and even physically. The duo discuss their experiences with living in survival mode, how it affects the brain and our bodies, and themes that are common with survival mode like "fawning", being "wired-but-tired", and the et ceteras.
