  • Mobile, Weather, and Authority
    2026/02/03

Before we get into it: sorry this episode is late. It was supposed to go up last week, but Nick spent most of that time without power, which turns out is not ideal for publishing podcasts. Thanks for your patience — and for not sending carrier pigeons.

We get into the ongoing saga of Riverside — what’s improved, what’s still annoying, and why mobile optimization continues to be everyone’s problem forever. From there, we spiral naturally into weather predictions, health changes, travel dreams, and the emotional math behind adopting a new pet. Toss in some thoughts on expertise, authority, and political trust, and boom — another calm, reasonable conversation from us.

    Takeaways

    • Riverside has evolved, but user experience can be frustrating.

    • Mobile optimization is crucial for user engagement.

    • Expertise in technology is constantly changing.

    • Weather predictions can significantly impact daily life.

    • Health and dietary changes can lead to weight loss.

    • Adopting a pet is a big decision that requires consideration.

    • Nostalgia plays a role in our memories and experiences.

    • Political discussions often lack transparency and respect.

    • Questioning authority is important for progress.

    • Travel plans can be influenced by weather and personal circumstances.

  • Pressure, Brothers, Kale
    2026/01/20

This week, we accidentally turned PoddiMiles into a health podcast after Nick scared himself (and everyone else) with blood pressure numbers, VID symptoms, and the realization that vegetables exist. Things quickly spiraled into childhood trauma-lite, Wisconsin sibling rivalries, and JQ unleashing his brother Brad on the mic like a warning label. It’s reflective, ridiculous, and somehow ends with us admitting aging is rude and siblings never let you forget who you were at eight years old.

    Takeaways

    • "I never say that. I say do you want my mental age, physical age or emotional age?"

    • "Every time I go to the doctor, I ask them to do my blood pressure manually."

    • "The VID sometimes can mimic heart attacks."

    • "I lost 12 pounds just by changing my diet."

    • "It's always fun to reminisce about childhood antics."
