Binge eating has a way of making you feel like the problem — like if you just had more discipline, more willpower, more resolve, you'd finally get this under control. But binge eating isn't a willpower problem, and you were never the problem to begin with.

The Path Beyond Binge Eating is for women 30 and older who are ready to identify, interrupt, and replace binge eating, restriction, chronic dieting, and emotional eating — and start creating a relationship with food and body something that actually lasts.

Each week, Licensed Therapist, Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, and Binge Eating Recovery Coach Molly Dyer will invite you on a path through the practical steps of moving beyond binge eating and toward a consistent, sustainable relationship with food, your body, and yourself.

Informed by 12 years of clinical experience and a Polyvagal lens, this show is not therapy — it is informational and educational, for women who are done waiting to lose weight or change their body to start living. This is where binge eating stops running the show and you start finding your way back to yourself.

  • 7. Identify, Interrupt, & Replace Binge Eating
    2026/08/26

You feel the urge building before you have even decided to respond to it. One moment you are moving through your day, and the next you are standing in the kitchen with food already in your hands, wondering how you got there so fast. If that gap between the urge and the binge feels like it disappears before you can do anything about it, this episode is for you.

This week you get a three-step framework, Identify, Interrupt, and Replace, the same process born out of client work and later recognized in Molly's own healing path. You will learn what it means to become a curious, compassionate observer of your patterns instead of an automatic responder to them, why pausing before you react is one of the most active and courageous things you can do, and how to actually use that pause once you find it. You will also hear the five-minute timer practice, a simple way to delay a binge long enough for the urge to shift, along with specific ideas for what to do inside those five minutes.

This conversation is for you if the binge ever feels faster than your ability to think, or if you have tried to white-knuckle your way through an urge and come up short. It offers small, practicable shifts instead of a complete overhaul, because those are the shifts that actually last.

Settle in, because today we are building a practice you can return to again and again.

  • 6. What Role Does Binge Eating Fill?
    2026/08/19

Maybe food has been the thing that never let you down. Maybe it showed up when nothing else did and felt safe to turn to. If binge eating has ever felt less like a problem and more like something you can't imagine your life without, this episode is for you.

In this episode, we look at the different roles binge eating can quietly take on in a woman's life: a friend who shows up, a source of predictability, a secret space that's only yours, and a way to numb out and disconnect when everything feels like too much. You'll hear why removing a behavior without understanding its role leaves an empty space, and why the push and pull between wanting it gone and relying on it makes sense.

This conversation is for you if you've ever finished a binge already planning tomorrow's restriction, or if you've held onto something in secret because it felt like the one space that didn't require you to perform. It's an invitation to get curious about what you've needed, so healing can start building something real in its place.

Take a breath, and let's begin.

  • 5. Awareness: The Key to Interrupt Binge Eating
    2026/08/12

Awareness is the key to interrupting binge eating and healing your relationship with food, body, and self. In this episode, Molly breaks down what awareness means and why the binge eating cycle runs on autopilot when awareness is missing. Molly describes how even a few seconds of noticing can open space between an urge and a response. She ends with a simple awareness practice you can take with you, with examples that are more neutral and not intended to be related to your eating pattern to begin with. If you've ever felt stuck in the restrict-urge-binge cycle, this episode offers a gentle first step out of it.
