    2025/04/04

Did you grow up speaking a "niche" language? Introducing Ana Tori, from Studio Re:Start (https://www.studio-restart.co/) - a German-and-English-speaking Slovenian architect!

This episode takes us on a journey through a little bit of this Slavic language and Slovenian history, and how this almost naturally develops into the need to learn other languages. She talks about her 'click' moment - one I hadn't yet heard!

We see similarities in language learning and business, and how we can allow ourselves to feel a little bit silly in the process, but something that really surprises me is how Ana says, 'Once you learn a language, nobody can take that away from you'.

  • S1 E10: "The power of language to connect" (Season 1 Finale!)
    2024/12/06

"The power of language to connect...or 'disconnect'", as Alba says.

Alba and I are probably as passionate about language as each other. She uses her passion working to improve communication between individuals and teams through her business "Comunicación de La Buena".

There are so many things that I loved about this episode, (the role of status and power when speaking another language, being able to avoid conflict with your partner by speaking each other's language, travelling and its impact on your business)... but I want to hear from you! What have you found interesting?

Leave a comment, share the episode with a friend and rate it! It really does mean the world to me.

Season 2 will begin next year - so stay tuned!

  • S1 E6: "I can do something not everyone can do!"
    2024/10/11

"My personality is what it is...the language just becomes a means of communication"

Claire, a Spanish and Italian-speaking American now based in Italy (and who teaches Italian kids 👉 @claire_teaches_kids) had the life goal of becoming bilingual... She didn't want to sound like an American 😅 and could even convince people that she was Spanish! 😆

Don't miss her definition of creativity or her thoughts on what motivates people to use English in their businesses and projects.
