  • Loss of Libido: When Desire Disappears (and It’s Not “Just You”)
    2026/02/08

Emma Watts, The Menopause Mentor, explores one of the least talked about — yet most emotionally challenging — symptoms of perimenopause and menopause: loss of libido.

In this episode, Emma gently unpacks why desire can suddenly drop, what’s really happening hormonally, and how stress, fatigue, body confidence and everyday overwhelm all quietly play a role. With honesty, compassion and her trademark down-to-earth approach, she reassures listeners that this is common, normal — and absolutely not a personal failing.

Emma shares practical, realistic strategies to help reconnect with your body, rebuild intimacy (with yourself first), and create the right conditions for desire to return — without pressure, guilt or forced fixes.

    Listeners will learn:

    • How changing hormones affect arousal, sensitivity and desire

    • Why libido isn’t just physical — it’s emotional and nervous-system driven too

    • The impact of stress, sleep and self-image on intimacy

    • Simple ways to support libido naturally during midlife

    • Why connection matters more than performance

This episode is supportive, empowering and deeply reassuring — helping women understand their changing bodies and reminding them they are not broken.

If you’d like more structured support, Emma offers:

  • HRT; Dismantled & Explained
    2026/01/09

In this episode of The Menopause Mentor Podcast, Emma Watts; The Menopause Mentor dismantles the confusion surrounding Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) and explains it in a way that is clear, calm and easy to understand.

Emma explores what HRT actually is, how it works in the body during perimenopause and menopause, who it may help, and why so many women are left feeling uncertain, dismissed or overwhelmed by conflicting information. She addresses common myths and fears, discusses benefits and considerations, and reframes HRT as a form of support — not a solution that “fixes” women, but one that supports a body navigating real hormonal change.

Drawing on over 25 years of experience working with women in health, fitness and wellbeing, Emma brings together clinical insight and real-world understanding. This episode offers balanced, compassionate guidance for women at any stage of their menopause journey, helping them make sense of their symptoms and feel more confident navigating conversations with healthcare professionals.

  • Protein, Power & Perimenopause
    2026/01/01

    Protein, Power & Perimenopause

Why Your Plate Matters More Than Ever

We’re back, ladies — and we’re kicking off Season Two with the topic that could change everything about how you feel in midlife… protein.

No, this isn’t about becoming a bodybuilder or drinking chalky shakes on the school run.
This is about feeling stronger, clearer, more energised — and finally understanding why what’s on your plate matters more than ever during perimenopause and menopause.

In this episode, Emma breaks down:
    • what actually happens to your body as hormones shift
    • why muscle is so much more than “tone”
    • how protein supports metabolism, cravings, fat loss, mood & energy
    • how much protein you really need
    • simple swaps to make real-life meals more satisfying
    • plus the myths that hold midlife women back (spoiler: protein doesn’t make you bulky — stress and not eating enough nutrients do!)

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel hungry an hour after breakfast, why weight suddenly sticks to your middle, or why your energy falls off a cliff by mid-afternoon — this episode is the missing piece.

Because perimenopause isn’t about restriction — it’s about fuelling the woman you are now.
Protein isn’t punishment. Protein is power.

Grab your cuppa, lace up your trainers, or listen while you batch-cook your week — and let’s make midlife feel good again. 💛

  • Perimenopause & New Year’s Resolutions: Let’s Get Real
    2025/12/28

Ladies, If you’ve ever made a New Year’s resolution in perimenopause and wondered why it all feels a bit… different, this episode is for you.

Because while everyone else is shouting “New Year, New Me”, midlife women are just trying to:

find their keys, feel less exhausted, and not cry at a nostalgic tea towel in the Tesco home aisle.

(Been there. Bought the tea towel. Regretted nothing.)

In today’s episode I’m talking honestly about:

why resolutions can feel heavier in perimenopause

how pressure + hormones = a cocktail we didn’t order

why you don’t need to become a “new woman” to be worthy

the small, realistic shifts that actually help you feel better — without punishment, restriction or guilt

It’s real talk… with humour, compassion, and a big reminder that your worth is not up for negotiation this January.

    If you’re tired of the all-or-nothing mindset…

if you want this year to feel more you and less “fix yourself!”

or if you simply need someone to tell you you’re doing better than you think —

hit play, take a walk, make a cuppa… and come feel seen.

Your fresh start doesn’t require a new identity — just kinder stories, small steps, and support that fits real life.

And if you want structure, sanity and sisterhood this year…

the Meno-Method Online Plan is here when you’re ready.

  • Do you need to take Progesterone?
    2025/12/23

✨ Do you need to take progesterone? ✨

This is one of the most common questions I’m asked — and the answer is it depends.

Progesterone is a hormone that naturally balances oestrogen. During perimenopause and menopause, levels drop, which can affect sleep, mood and cycle changes.

👉 If you still have your womb and you’re taking oestrogen as part of HRT, you usually need progesterone too. It protects the lining of the womb and reduces health risks.
👉 If you’ve had a hysterectomy, you often don’t need progesterone.

📊 In the UK, HRT use has risen sharply in recent years, with millions of women now accessing treatment — and for many, progesterone is part of that picture. Worldwide, menopause care is finally getting the attention it deserves.

Progesterone may also support better sleep, calmer mood and symptom balance for some women — but it’s not one-size-fits-all.

    The key?
    💚 Personalised care
💚 The right hormones for your body
💚 A conversation that listens to you

You’re not broken — you’re navigating change. And you deserve support.

  • Is your mum or nan acting weird lately?
    2025/12/22

“Is Your Mum or Nan Acting a Bit… Different Lately?”

    Snappier than usual?
More tired, emotional, forgetful or just not quite herself?

It might not be “just age”…
    It could be menopause.

So many women go through perimenopause and menopause without real understanding or support — and the people around them often notice the changes before they do.

Hormonal shifts can affect mood, energy, sleep, memory, confidence and how a woman shows up in everyday life.
But instead of curiosity and compassion, women are often labelled as “moody”, “difficult” or “losing it”.

In this short episode, I’m talking about how menopause can show up in mums, nans, aunties and partners — and why awareness, patience and support make such a difference.

Menopause doesn’t just affect the woman going through it.
It affects families, relationships and generations.

A little understanding goes a long way.

If this made you think of someone you love… share it with them.

    — Emma
