Overwhelm with ADHD often shows up in three flavors—before, during, and after—and naming which one you’re in is the most useful thing you can do to stop freezing or frying. I talk about how that overwhelm can look like time blindness, decision overload, RSD, or just your brain saying “danger, Will Robinson,” and why those reactions don’t mean you failed. You can do practical stuff: slow your breathing, put a plan on paper, set a boundary so you don’t answer every question in the middle of a task, and break things into tiny, dopamine-friendly steps. We also remind you it’s okay to process afterward—crying, a quiet bath, or even a deliberate breath practice helps your body expel the build-up. You don’t always need validation from others; give yourself permission to call something “good enough” and move on. I’m with you on this—let’s notice the overwhelm, try one small tool, and be a little kinder to our fried brains.
