Hello and welcome to the Madasus Podcast, the show that shares what the Lord is doing in the lives and ministry of the Madasus.
We are your host, Joel Madasu and Stellah Madasu.
In this episode, we are gonna talk about two things. Number one, what the Lord is doing in our lives and through our lives, and also number two, a request that we want to ask you to please come forward and pray with us.
So what is the Lord doing in our lives? As you know, we are missionaries to Saipan a little island that's far in the Pacific. Some people don't even know where that island was, and in fact, we didn't know where this small island was. If you Google this island, you'll probably see it. If you don't Google it, you wouldn't see it on [00:01:00] the map. That's how small it is, and some of you know that this is very small.
However, God brought us here to serve. So we came here on June the seventh, and it's about almost six months and time really flies. On this small island, there are about 48,000 people, and that fluctuates. Some people believe there are 50,000, some people believe they're maybe little over than 30,000 people, but still on this little island, they're different communities.
Most of them are Asian communities. So within these Asian communities, there are Chinese, Filipinos, Bangladeshi, very few Indians, and many more, especially local communities. God has given us an opportunity to serve him to the people here. So over the past few months, we are interacting with the locals. Some of them stopped me and asked me if I teach the Bible. I said, yes. And so [00:02:00] they want to learn what the Bible is talking about; what is the Bible about? They said that they're doing Bible study, but they don't understand a whole lot. They're just reading for the sake of reading, and they're reading because they want to be involved in reading the word of God. So basically, they're really not gleaning anything, but they're just reading for the sake of reading.
But then that tells their heart to learn the word of God. So we feel and we believe that this is God given opportunity for us to reach out to them, and to help them understand the Bible. In other words, God may be opening the door for us to minister onto the local people. Maybe this is the beginning. So we ask that you please pray.
Please pray. So that we would be reaching the local people with the gospel of Jesus Christ, and I simply don't want to stop right there. Gospel of Jesus Christ is the power of God, but I also want them to understand what the Bible is about. [00:03:00] So please pray for this opportunity.
The second one I want to talk about is every year we reach out to you with a prayerful heart and a burden that you would come forward that God would move you to come forward, and to help us achieve the goal of helping others with projects such as church buildings and water-well projects.
We have asked you to help us personally with our needs, and you have helped us a lot. We have seen the love of God through you. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for supporting us and supporting these charitable activities.
These activities help us reach more people with the gospel of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. That is the only reason why we do these charitable activities.
