    • "We can always re-record," Angela said at the beginning of this episode. But we didn't. You get a glimpse of our time together and from there we hope you will receive an invitation to come home to yourself. Angela is preparing an offering called "Listen Forth."
    • Listen Forth is about coming back to that center, that core, and being resourced with love.
    • How do you come home to the seat of your embodied soul? That is the focus of this course and of the publication called: Love's Alchemy.

  • Healing With Amy Scher
    2023/05/21

Welcome the The Parents' Way Podcast. This episode is a little different than before. Angela is speaking with Amy Scher. Amy was the person who showed Angela that she could follow the leaf of her own body and begin healing from that place. Otherwise we are always at the whim of experts, real or imagined.

You will hear rather quickly that Amy and Angela are kindred spirits and they feel really close. I loved being a witness to this conversation.

Amy Scher is the author of four books that are available in 20 different languages. She is currently writing her 5th book with is very different from the others.

Some of the things they talk about are

    • What brought Amy to explore energy healing in her own health journey
    • How you use energy tools in your everyday life and relationships today (esp in relationship with your spouse
    • How do parents in your private practice (or life) use energy tools to help their kids? What do you recommend?
    • The idea of "humaning." Allowing one another to show up being fully human
    • At the end Amy Scher gives a lesson that teaches a simple practice to help us shift our energy.
    • And Amy gives a little preview of her new book that will come out in May 2024. It is a very different book than the ones she has written so far.

    2023/04/30

Angela talks about the need for parents to come home to themselves. Only when parents themselves can find their main central energy lines, can they become available for the present relationships that our kids so desperately need.

Children need deep connection and relationships with their primary people. That is how they grow resilient, how they develop leadership and independence.

  • Listening Forth —Listening Begets Healing
    2023/04/02

Welcome to The Parents' Way Podcast. Rev. Angela and I have regular conversations about all things parenting with heart and soul. In this episode we talk about listening. Angela explains that there are various ways of listening. "How can I get my children to listen?" is the question parents ask more than any other. We discuss the problem with this question, and what a better way of listening can be.

As always we maintain that the best way to teach your children to listen, is by listening to them. And the best way to keep listening to children is by having someone listen to you.

Listening is a deep topic. Listening begets healing. Listening brings forth your humanity from a deep place within. Listening begins with trusting that what you have within you matters. It matters more than anything, and listening is a way to help draw your children out. It is a way to help draw you out as well.

    Listening begets healing.

    2023/03/19

Earlier we spoke about the crisis that girls are facing. We are recognizing that kids of all genders are facing exceptional mental health challenges.

This week we ask, what about the parents?

If the kids are struggling, the parents are struggling too.

Angela talks about what she is hearing from parents and she gives few techniques that every parent can apply right now to help your nervous system.

  • Teenage Mental Health - Feeling Felt
    2023/03/12

Welcome to The Parents' Way Podcast.

Angela and I are talking this week about mental health, and in particular about the mental health of teenage girls.

A recent report by the CDC highlights the ways in which social media in particular may be behind a sharp increase in depressing and suicide among teenage girls.

In this episode, Angela and I talk about the experience of “feeling felt,” the experience that someone else feels what you are feeling in themselves. We discuss what the experience of “feeling felt” is and why it is protective for our children’s mental health.

As parents, we can give children that experience of “feeling felt” and we emphasize that we can only do this when we ourselves have the experience of being deeply connected. It is very difficult to help our children to feel felt when we ourselves are isolated.

  • Teen Mental Health: Relationships Matter
    2023/03/05

Welcome to The Parents' Way Podcast.

Angela and I are talking this week about mental health, and in particular about the mental health of teenage girls.

A recent report by the CDC highlights the ways in which social media in particular may be behind a sharp increase in depressing and suicide among teenage girls.

In this episode Angela lifts up an often forgotten piece of this conversation.

When girls engage in social media, they are expressing a deep need for connection.

As parents we have the opportunity to step in and fulfill that need for connection at home so that our teenagers don't have to seek that outside, where they are vulnerable.

Neither Angela nor I are clinically trained mental health professionals and if you need immediate advice on the mental health of your children, please seek professional advice.
