It's a spooky season tradition! To celebrate October in style, the Legendary Ladies picked a horror show for their newest Pilot Pod - Netflix's Carrie! Amy, Kat, and Morgan settle in and chat about their history with the all time classic horror film, and Stephen King in general. They hosts then dive into the episode, discussing the benefit the pilot has of jumping right in with a story that everyone knows, how Michael Flanagan approached putting Carrie in the modern world of social media and school shooting drills, and how the pacing works so well for the episode. They also unanimously decide they'll watch episode 2...so buckle in for some theories!

All this and more on this week's The Legendary Ladies Podcast

The Legendary Ladies are officially back from the summer hiatus - and are heading to Sterling Point (in Muskoka, which is just so fun to say). Amy, Kat, and Morgan are thrilled to talk about one of the hottest shows out there, settling in for this pilotpod that just hits right. They chat about how the pacing seemed to play well into the episode, why Gen Z felt honestly represented, and the realism of that snappy dialogue that took the hosts back to the language of Gilmore Girls and The West Wing. They also muse why the main character didn't seem to know how far away Canada was, but decide they could ignore that in lieu of an otherwise entertaining 45 minutes.

The Legendary Ladies are back!! We're back from our hiatus to talk all things DC's new HBO show, Lanterns. Join Kat and Morgan (Amy will be back for next week's episode) as we discuss what worked and didn't work for us in the Lanterns pilot. Is there enough Green Lantern lore? What did we think about the characterization of Hal Jordan and John Stewart? And will we be watching more? Join us as we discuss this and more on our Lanterns PilotPod!

Is it just us, or is *everyone* talking about Heated Rivalry?! Well, hopefully it's not just us, because on this week's duo ep of the Legendary Ladies Podcast, Kat and Amy return to discuss the entire season of the hit HBO show. They chat about how the pacing of the show created a world where fans got just what they wanted, without there ever being a point of "too much of a good thing", how the characters evolved of the season, and what predictions they have for season two. They also discuss how uh, well, just like a lot of fans who had never really been a fan of the sport, they might like hockey now...

It's the episode you've been waiting for! The Legendary Ladies finally get a chance to sit down and talk about Wicked: For Good. Amy, Kat, and Morgan (who were simply agog and obsessed with Wicked Part I) have plenty to discuss, including the most important point - did Part II hold up? The hosts chat about whether or not the general public vs. theater fans could approach the movie differently, as an "Act II" rather than simply another movie. They also talk about the lack of a "viral" factor - how come, a month after Part I, the Loathing choreography was still making the rounds around the internet, but 3 weeks after Part II, the world seems to all but moved on from Wicked. Finally, the hosts give their honest opinions about the film, the performances, and the phenomenon in general.

Attend mind towards glorious task - and listen to the new episode of The Legendary Ladies Podcats, where Kat and Amy dive into the new Spartacus series: Spartacus: House of Ashur. The hosts approach the review of episode 1 from different perspectives - Kat as entirely new viewer, and Amy as a long-time fan, allowing the Ladies to discuss whether the new series is inherently accessible for a new audience, and if it is, does it capture a first time watcher effectively. Amy and Kat also chat about the challenges facing the new series, share thoughts about the [current] lack of Roman elite, and debate whether Ashur was the right character to resurrect from the grave.

At the internet's behest, Kat and Amy sat down to watch the first episode of "Heated Rivalry", the queer sports series that is taking HBO Max by storm. The Legendary Ladies step into the show blind, with only a marginal idea of what they were getting into - and they were absolutely thrilled. The hosts chat about how the series feels like a genuine translation of a book to screen, the tasteful artistry of the sexual depictions, and discuss the queer aspects of the show that can invite audiences of all types to consume the series.
