  • Protecting Your Energy (Even From Your Tía, Your Boss, and Your BFF)
    2025/08/03

Mi gente… this episode is for the healers, the feelers, and yes, the professional “it’s fine, I can handle it” people.

If you’ve ever been the designated listener, the cousin everyone calls to vent, the coworker who gets trapped in “one quick chat” that turns into a free therapy session, or the friend who gets texts like “hey, can I just ask you something real quick?” (spoiler: it’s never quick) you know what I’m talking about.

This week, we’re talking about how to protect your energy not just with sage and crystals (although I fully support a well-timed sage session), but with the kind of self-care that actually works when life and other people get messy.

    Because here’s the truth:

    • Just because we can hold space for people doesn’t mean everyone deserves unlimited access to that space.
    • Just because we’re healers or helpers doesn’t mean we signed up to be emotional landfills.
    • And just because we own 27 veladoras does not mean we have to absorb everyone’s drama like spiritual Febreze.

We’re diving into what Dr. Pooja Lakshmin calls Real Self-Care, from her incredible book Real Self-Care: A Transformative Program for Redefining Wellness (Crystals, Cleanses, and Bubble Baths Not Included) and weaving it with curandero wisdom.

Because let’s be real: sometimes “self-care” turns into a to-do list that’s as long as your tía’s phone plan chisme.

    • Meditate.
    • Journal.
    • Cleanse the house.
    • Charge the crystals.
    • Heal your mother wound before dinner.

And suddenly, you’re “caring for yourself” but somehow… more exhausted.

Real self-care isn’t about adding more. It’s about making different choices. The kind that actually protects your peace, even if it disappoints people.

Because mi gente… You don’t need to be an emotional buffet where everyone just takes what they want. You are a sacred altar.

And for those of us who still feel guilty setting boundaries? We’ll reframe guilt as growing pains, not proof you did something wrong.

And for those that wanna go deeper? Grab Dr. Pooja Lakshmin’s book here → Real Self-Care. It’s not crystals and cleanses, it’s a guide to making the kind of soul-honoring decisions that actually shift your life.

This episode is equal parts chisme, healing, and calling your power back. So grab your cafecito, light your veladora, and repeat after me:

“No” is a complete sentence. And so is: “Not today, energía tóxica.”

  • Curanderismo 101: Foundations of the Healing Path
    2025/07/20

Mi gente… This episode is for anyone who’s ever burned sage, prayed to their ancestors, chugged their cafecito, and thought:

“Wait… am I supposed to be a healer, a therapist, or just a functional adult today?”

Today, we’re diving into the roots of Curanderismo. And no, it’s not just waving ramas around like you’re auditioning for a spiritual mariachi. It’s remembering who we are underneath all the crap this world layered on top of us.

Joining me is my friend, curandera-in-training, and intuitive healer Dora Praxadis. We talk about what curanderismo really is (spoiler: it’s not just your abuela’s vaporub hacks, though, respect to Vicks for always coming through).

This episode is for those of us who grew up with:

    🫚 Teas for everything
    🕯️ Prayers for every worry
🌬️ And someone burning something smoky whenever the vibes felt off

We talk about the moment curanderismo grabbed us by the shoulders and said, “Oye, wake up. We got ancestors to honor.”

    We unpack:

🌱 What curanderismo really is beyond limpias and egg cleanses
🔥 The core principles that keep us grounded (and sometimes humble us real quick)
🧭 How to connect with ancestors even if you don’t know all their names
😂 Plus, Rapid Fire Healer Edition, because yes—this path is sacred but also hilarious sometimes.

✨ So if you’ve ever thought:

    · “Am I too woo for work and too rational for my altar?”
    · “How do I honor my lineage when I feel disconnected from it?”
    · “Why does Spirit always drag me mid-limpia?”

    This episode is for you.

Come for the ancestral wisdom, stay for the chisme and healer confessions. Because healing? It’s sacred, messy, and sometimes sounds like your abuela yelling at you for leaving your limpia bowl out overnight.

🕯️🔥 So light your candle, grab your cafecito, and come sit with us.

We’re remembering who we are, one story at a time.

  • Dear Latino Community: Yes, You Can Have a Therapist and a Veladora
    2025/07/06

Mi gente… This episode is a love letter to those of us raised on prayer, Vicks, and not talking about feelings.

If you’ve ever saged your room, cried to your playlist, talked to your plants, then opened your Notes app like it was a therapy journal, you are not alone. And yes, you are in a place where you’re allowed to light your veladora and still book the damn therapy session.

This episode is for all of us who grew up with limpias, our abuelas praying rosarios, and “échale ganas” as therapy. It's also for those who were told to “not talk about our feelings outside this house.” And at the same time, it’s for those of us who’ve always known there’s something sacred about being seen, fully, flaws and all.

We dive deep into a real story, one where Spirit showed up mid-session and reminded me that therapy and curanderismo don’t cancel each other out. They complete each other. We talk about ancestral memory, why our community sometimes chooses spiritual support over clinical, and how we can start choosing both.

Because real talk? Some of us are too spiritual pa’ la oficina and too deep pa’ small talk. And somewhere along the way, we got the idea that being spiritual and getting therapy were two different zip codes. But guess what? They live at the same address now.

    Therapy isn’t betrayal. It’s a homecoming.

Yeah, Limpias help, but so does learning to say “I’m angry” without burning bridges.

We can sage the room and learn how to set boundaries without guilt.

✨ So if you’ve ever thought:

    · “I believe in energy… but also, my anxiety is outta pocket.”

    · “I’m not broken… but I could use some help naming what hurts.”

    · “I talk to my ancestors… but I need someone to help me untangle my mother wound.”

    This episode is for you.

Come for the ancestral wisdom, stay for the emotional literacy, and maybe bring tissues because yes, we get real. And yes, we still laugh.

    Because healing?
    It’s holy.
    It’s messy.
    And it’s hella funny sometimes.

🕯️🔥 So light your candle, pour your cafecito, and come through.

We’re healing in two languages, in two worlds, and on our own terms.

  • Spirit in the Workplace: Intuition as a Leadership Tool
    2025/06/22

Let’s be real here, when was the last time your job asked you to bring your intuition to the team meeting? Yeah... probably never. This week on The Latino Soul Sessions, we’re flipping the script and asking the real questions:

Can you lead with your gut?
Can your ancestors co-sign your strategy deck?
Can you light a candle before a Zoom call without getting side-eyed?

In this episode, I share a personal story about the time I walked away from a “respectable” nonprofit gig with no plan, no savings, and nothing but a gut feeling and a half-melted veladora. It was terrifying, liberating, and yes, there were quesadilla tears involved.

We talk about how intuition isn’t some woo-woo hobby, it’s ancestral intelligence. It’s that weird vibe you get in a meeting that no one else notices, but your body does. It’s the moment your chest tightens and your spirit’s like, “Mijo… no te metas en eso.”

Plus, we dig into how to bring ancestral wisdom into modern leadership without setting off the office smoke alarm. (Yes, I’ve saged my inbox. No, I’m not sorry.)

And of course, there’s a mini soul check to help you figure out where you’re ignoring your inner compass in favor of “playing it safe.”

This one’s for anyone who’s ever ignored their intuition at work and regretted it… or listened to it and found their whole life opening up.

  • Healing in Public: What It Means to Show Up Whole
    2025/06/08

Okay, real talk, this episode is for anyone who’s ever felt “too spiritual for work” and “too woo woo for your therapist.”

We are diving into what it means to be seen while healing, like, for real. No filters, no fluff. Just you, your chanclas, your trauma, and your glittery altar.

We're talking masks, impostor syndrome, ancestral pep talks, and what it really means to be seen while healing. No filters, just you, your chanclas, your trauma, and your glittery altar.

Plus, a wild story about the time sacred plant medicine called me out mid-ceremony, and Carlos announced to the whole group that I was a spiritual chismoso. Healing is holy… and apparently full of cosmic shade.

Let’s laugh, get real, and remember, we don’t need to water down our magic. We are the medicine.

Bring snacks. Bring tissues. Bring your full, spicy, sacred self. 💫

P.S. There is a reflection worksheet to help you on your journey, no grades, just corazón. 🫶🏽

  • Grad School Again: Mental Health Meets Spirit Work
    2025/06/02

Ever wonder what it’s like to be in grad school while running a business and doing spiritual work?

In this episode, I share why I went back to grad school at 38 to become a therapist, not to leave curanderismo behind, but to add to it.

We talk about blending tradition with clinical tools, healing soul wounds and anxiety, and what it means to be the bridge between psychology and spirit.

Spoiler Alert: You don’t have to choose because you get to be all of it.

Oh, and there’s a little soul work exercise at the end to help you check in with your own journey.

    Bring snacks.

Som-hi! (That's let go in Catalan!)

  • The Call to Heal: I Didn’t Choose This Path, It Chose Me
    2025/06/02

    This one’s personal, y’all.

In this episode, I’m sharing the moment Spirit straight up kicked down the door like a chancla-wielding mother, demanding I stop ignoring my path as a healer. I didn’t plan this life. I was just trying to live, light some copal, and mind my business. But the call was loud. Real loud.

If you’ve ever felt a quiet nudge (or a full-on spiritual tackle) pulling you toward something deeper, healing, purpose, reclaiming your gifts, you’re in good company.

Let’s talk about what happens when you stop running, start listening, and finally say yes. Even if you’re still paying off student loans and unsure how to explain to your family what you do.

Come for the soul talk, stay for the chaos.

  • Welcome to The Latino Soul Sessions: Where Ancient Roots Meet Modern Minds
    2025/06/02

Hey hey! In this first episode, I’m keeping it real about why I started this podcast, how I went from running a business to burning copal, and what it means to walk between cultures, roles, and healing paths.

We’re talking curanderismo meets clinical counseling, ancestral wisdom, crying-in-the-car breakthroughs, and why healing isn’t a straight line. It’s more like a messy, magical rollercoaster with cafecito breaks.

So get comfy, take a breath, and let’s kick off this journey con corazón, chisme, and just the right amount of existential drama.

    You in?
