  • How do I instill hope in my kids?
    2025/08/04

Guest: Brian Holman | Bob Moffitt interviews Brian Holman, Founder of Empower College Prep. Holman says, "Nationwide, 8% of kids from low income families go to college. In Arizona, 46% of the whole state of Arizona go on to college. Over 90% of our kids go to college", explaining that part of the curriculum, starting from 3rd grade, is to visit universities each year. Holman shares, "We show them a vision of what's possible for them... building relationship with their teacher, as well as career trips where they are shadowing people, and college trips where they're talking to alumni at those universities, building a sense of community that's consistent with the fact that God creates every single person with a purpose. The passion of the school is Ephesians 2:10; they're a masterpiece. It's our job to partner with them and their parents to discover their purpose." Holman continues, "Our teachers naturally live out their faith. With things that the kids are doing experiencing, Jesus comes up naturally. One second grade student asked their teacher, "Do you think Jesus can take care of my nightmares?"" Empower College Prep

  • Using God's revelation to reveal truth of life's disciplines through education
    2025/07/28

Guest: Lesley Russell | Bob Moffitt interviews Lesley Russell of Equip210 (from Ephesians 2:10). Russell trains teachers nationally on the ethos of revelate, to reveal math, science, creation, history, english, and the electives through that lens; the wisdom of God vs. the wisdom of man. Russell says, "80% of your graduating high school seniors who are raised in Christian families leave the church. I feel a lot of it is the dichotomy between their education; just going to church and youth group during the week does not override the secular education of what they're being exposed to." Russell says, "We want to leave a legacy to our children and grandchildren." She has been training teachers through the church with a kingdom education system. "One grandmother called the church and spoke to our school director, saying, 'I have been praying for years for my adult children and their children to come back to their love for Christ." https://equip210.com/

    2025/07/23

Guest: Beverly Coons | Bob Moffitt speaks with Beverly Coons about how she was asked by a local elementary school to tend a garden to engage students. Coons gathered a few of her friends from the church, all of whom are over the age of 70, and got started. Coons says, "I work inside the church, but I work outside the church, too." She adds, "Find a way to be a servant." In partnering with a local elementary school, Coons says, "I'm being a servant, instead of going into the school to proselytize." Coons shares many precious stories of helping children grow in the garden, especially one special needs boy named Tommy.
