The Sun moves through Human Design Gate 46, the Gate of Determination of the Self, whose Gene Key travels from Seriousness to Delight to Ecstasy, while the Autumn Equinox brings us into Libra season & an upcoming Full Moon in Aries activates the axis of independence, relationship & interdependence. This episode looks at hyper-independence through the lens of mysticism, going beyond the usual advice to “just ask for help” to explore how competence can become identity, why receiving requires discernment, the connection between hyper-independence & codependency, & what happens when self-trust quietly becomes believing you’re the only person you can trust. We’ll also get practical with Human Design, astrology & shamanic work as tools for recognizing where you over-manage, uncovering the old agreements underneath the pattern & experimenting with a different relationship to uncertainty.     What if some of the things keeping you trapped don’t actually feel like traps anymore because you’ve gotten really good at living with them? Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius this week, bringing desire, attachment, power & the bargains we make with ourselves to the surface, while the Sun moves through Human Design Gate 6, the Gate of Friction, whose Gene Key travels from Conflict to Diplomacy to Peace. And with Venus giving us a preview of themes we’ll revisit during her upcoming retrograde, it’s worth paying attention to what starts rubbing now. This episode revisits Chapter 8 of Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Women Who Run With the Wolves and the eight traps she explores through The Red Shoes, from the gilded cages we willingly step into and the soul famine that follows, to the ways we override instinct, normalize what isn’t working & eventually become participants in maintaining our own cages. We’ll look at why the bait matters, how friction can help us recognize an adaptation that has outlived its usefulness, & three things to contemplate as Venus and Pluto show us some of the fine print.
