• Wisdom & Love
    2026/07/03

Thanks and praises to the Lama for gracing us with another teaching!

In this conversation, t.k. explains the Vajrayana and Dzogchen view of wisdom and love as inseparable qualities of awareness. Wisdom is described as open emptiness beyond concepts, while love is described as the clear, warm radiance that arises from that openness.

Rinpoche also distinguishes ordinary mind from the nature of mind, describing mind as conceptual and identity-based, and nature of mind as luminous openness in which appearances arise. Several analogies are used to show how perception constructs subject and object, while realization reveals non-duality and the equal nature of appearances.

In the final part, Rinpoche discusses pure view and the Guru -- that all appearances are expressions of Buddha nature and that devotion is recognition of wisdom rather than sentimental attachment. The Guru is presented as precious for their role on the path and ultimately identified with awareness itself.

  • Never Mistake a Rest Stop for the Final Destination
    2026/06/30

In this episode of The Freedom Place Podcast, t.k. graces us with another interview focusing on the dynamics of Vajrayana practice and the path. Thank you for listening and enjoy!

This interview discusses two approaches to the spiritual path: a “via negativa” that focuses on reducing suffering without requiring Divinity, and Vajrayana, which is based on Buddha nature and a more direct understanding of Divinity. It also stresses that rational thought is not enough for this kind of understanding, and that insight should not be turned into a fixed doctrine. A major section covers the “Four Thoughts that Turn the Mind to Dharma” — precious human birth, impermanence, karma, and suffering — as lived contemplations rather than abstract ideas. The Lama also talks about renunciation, the role of teacher and student, and the need for discipline, repetition, and serious effort in practice. The interview ends by describing core practices such as refuge, bodhicitta, Vajrasattva, and guru yoga as ongoing and never truly complete until enlightenment. Rinpoche says that if someone believes these practices are finished, that is a sign of arrogance, and that the path is a "lifetime of practice."

  • On Theurgy
    2026/03/25

We are blessed with another episode! In this interview, t.k. explores theurgy, Divine invocation, and the sanctification of matter, emphasizing the need to recognize the Divine essence beyond thingness. Rinpoche critiques nihilism in contemporary culture and encourages engagement with profound spiritual inquiry. The interview culminates in a contemplation of the interplay of being and non-being, where the nature of reality is seen as both luminous and expansive. This culminating point suggests that every appearance, despite its seeming individuality, emerges from a singular source of awareness—redefining our understanding of appearance itself.
