  • Can't Afford To Invest? You Are Solving The Wrong Problem.
    2026/08/27

Most advice about not being able to invest assumes the money is already

there and just needs directing. This is for when that's not true.

I spent years in retail and premier banking. Working with the top 1% of

clients didn't change the underlying pattern: often the most careful

people I ever dealt with still weren't going to make it to payday. This

    is not a discipline problem.

In this episode: the real difference between an allocation problem and

a capacity problem — one is tidy, the other isn't — and the two

questions that tell you which one you actually have. I don't hand you

the answer here; working it out is the point. I also get into why an

income ceiling often isn't as fixed as it feels, and the one lever

almost nobody pulls because it's uncomfortable rather than difficult.

I'm not going to answer "pay off debt or invest first" either. That's a

genuinely nuanced question and it deserves its own episode.

More income isn't the goal. Freedom is.

If your answer to the capacity question is currently a bit fuzzy, the

Freedom Audit is the longer form of it. It walks you through what your

version of freedom actually looks like, prices it as a monthly number,

shows you the gap between that and where you are now, and ends on a

first move plus a seven-day action. It isn't a financial plan or a

    projection — it's a number and a direction.

If you're listening rather than watching, drop a comment with one word

    — allocation, or capacity. I'd genuinely like to know which one's more

    true for you right now.

This is education and general discussion, not personalised financial

    advice.

  • The Rules Keep Changing. Here's How To Decide Anyway.
    2026/08/27

I keep meeting people who have stopped making decisions about their money.

Not because they don't care — because something might change, and waiting

feels like the sensible thing to do.

This is how to decide anyway.

I'm not going to pretend I know what any government, market or economy is

about to do next. I don't. What I can give you is a way of making decisions

that doesn't need you to predict all of that correctly first — and a

reminder that waiting isn't free either. Indecision is still a decision.

In this episode: why fear turns into a decision before you've noticed it

happening, the difference between "the facts changed" and "I'm frightened

they might," what a landlord survey can actually tell you about acting

under uncertainty, and the question that tells you how much proof you

should need before you act. The fourth of five questions is the one that

    actually changes what people do.

I'm clear about the limit of all this too. It won't stop governments

changing rules or markets falling, and I'm not pretending you control what

    you don't.

If you've got about seventeen things that feel messy right now and no idea

which to deal with first, I built something free for that — the Freedom

Leak Map. It walks you through the four places freedom leaks out of a

life — money, time, energy and opportunity — and helps you pick one thing

    to fix first.
