  • The Book of Noah: The Lost Flood Scripture Hidden Inside Other Texts
    2026/08/01

The Book of Noah is a proposed lost Jewish writing known through traces in Second Temple literature: First Enoch, Jubilees, the Genesis Apocryphon, and fragmentary Dead Sea Scroll manuscripts. These traditions expand the brief Genesis flood story into a wider drama of Watchers, giants, forbidden knowledge, evil spirits, angelic warnings, and remedies revealed to Noah. Jubilees says Noah recorded healing knowledge taught by angels and gave the book to Shem. First Enoch preserves the striking story of Noah’s extraordinary birth, where Lamech fears the child may belong to the Watchers until Enoch confirms Noah is truly Lamech’s son. The Genesis Apocryphon gives a damaged Aramaic parallel, naming Noah’s mother Bitenosh and preserving first-person Noah material. Qumran fragments such as 1Q19 and 4Q534 through 4Q536 may preserve related traditions, but their titles and contents remain disputed. The central unresolved question is whether these passages come from one lost scripture, several Noahic books, or a shared body of stories that later authors reshaped.

  • The Book of Jubilees: The Rewritten Genesis They Left Out of the Bible
    2026/07/25

The Book of Jubilees, also called Lesser Genesis or the Book of the Division of the Days, is an ancient Jewish rewriting of Genesis and the opening of Exodus. It presents Moses on Mount Sinai receiving not only commandments, but a complete angelic history dictated from heavenly tablets. Creation, the flood, the Watchers, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, Passover, and Israel’s future are arranged by weeks of years and jubilees, with laws and festivals placed inside the structure of creation itself. Probably composed in Hebrew during the Second Temple period, often dated by scholars to the second century before the common era, Jubilees became important in some Jewish circles. Fragments representing multiple Hebrew copies were found among the Dead Sea Scrolls, while its complete text survived principally in Geʽez and remains canonical in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo tradition. This episode follows the heavenly tablets, the Watchers, demons and Mastema, Abraham’s expanded childhood, the three hundred sixty-four day calendar, the Ethiopian manuscript tradition, and the Dead Sea fragments, while separating evidence from later interpretation.

  • The Book of Watchers: The Fallen Angels Who Taught Forbidden Knowledge
    2026/07/18

The Book of Watchers, the opening major section of First Enoch, expands the brief Genesis account of the sons of God, human women, and the Nephilim into a full apocalyptic drama. Likely shaped in Jewish circles around the third century before the common era, it tells of heavenly Watchers who descend on Mount Hermon, take wives, father violent giants, and teach arts the text presents as unauthorized and corrupting: weapons, adornment, enchantments, root-cutting, and celestial signs. Shemihazah leads the oath of descent. Azazel becomes the great teacher of war and ornamentation. Enoch, only briefly described in Genesis, becomes a heavenly scribe and messenger who carries the condemned angels’ petition and returns with judgment.

The text survives most completely in Ge'ez through the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo tradition, where Enoch is canonical. Aramaic fragments from the Dead Sea Scrolls show that Enochic writings circulated among Jewish communities centuries before Christianity. The episode separates textual antiquity from proof that the narrated events literally occurred, and distinguishes the ancient Jewish apocalyptic text from later Christian demonology, occult angelology, and ancient-astronaut theories.
