  • The Fifth Hour: White Whale
    2026/08/30

The Sunday pod throws you a curveball—we’re putting the usual mailbag in mothballs for a week. Why? Because we’re still basking in the strange, slightly sticky afterglow of Saturday’s big Maller Meet & Greet in Las Vegas. Benny opens the case files from the Maller Bureau of Investigations, where an unofficially deputized P1 went above and beyond in the years-long hunt for our elusive White Whale. Captain Ahab had the ocean; we apparently have sports-radio archives and people with way too much free time. Then there’s dinner. A simple plan. What could possibly go wrong? Everything. Instead of arriving at the Temple of Cholesterol for some artery-clogging fellowship, Ben somehow ends up in a cul-de-sac involving a Honda and fertilizer. Honda. Fertilizer. Cul-de-sac. Perfect. Because apparently asking for dinner directions now requires a degree in urban planning and a hazmat endorsement. It’s the Fifth Hour—where even getting something to eat becomes a three-act disaster.

  • The Fifth Hour: The Gremlin Manifesto
    2026/08/29

Ben Maller gets you ready for the Comic-Con for people with insomnia, otherwise known as the Maller Meet & Greet in Las Vegas—because apparently strangers from overnight radio gathering in a bar is considered a social event. Plus, Ben unveils The Gremlin Manifesto, a tale as old as technology itself. After another romantic dance with the tech gods ended with equipment going haywire, Ben was forced to launch a one-man counterinsurgency from the old country. Nothing dramatic, just a grown man fighting machines that are supposed to make life easier. Ben also produces dusty official, government-stamped paperwork. Yes, apparently the government once took time away from misplacing billions of dollars to certify something involving Ben Maller. Finally, your tax dollars at work. All that and more on The Fifth Hour with Ben Maller.

  • The Fifth Hour: Bye Bye Bernie
    2026/08/28

For nine years, Bernie Fratto has been a granite countertop of weekend overnight radio on Fox Sports Radio — dependable, durable and somehow still standing after years of exposure to the radioactive waste known as the broadcasting business. A longtime pinch-hitter on the Ben Maller Show, Bernie drops by the Audio Sweatshop before taking a sabbatical from professional gasbaggery. Bernie and Ben unlock the Nostalgia Vault, dust off the broadcasting fossils and swap you-can’t-make-this-up tales from the Radio Wars — strange bosses, stranger decisions and enough broadcasting malpractice to fill a Costco. It’s a Fifth Hour exclusive! Climb aboard the Nostalgia Train as we travel back to radio’s wonderfully dysfunctional past, where common sense went to die and every hallway had a story.

    All aboard!
