概要
They lied to you. Women are sexual beings! Welcome to The Fat and Horny Podcast, hosted by Nobuhle N Nyoni, The Sex Storyteller. This is a space where African, Black and Brown women talk about sex, sexuality, sexual health, and sex education, at their intersection with culture, religion, and patriarchy. We know it sounds too serious, but we promise we have a good time with it, too. In season 2, Dawryn Nyiramugisha, a sex coach, teaches us how to breathe during sex for heightened pleasure. Alwande, a somatic sex coach, shares funny and vulnerable moments that shaped her sexual confidence. Warimi Karogo, host of the 69 Podcast, paints a picture of what sexual practices looked like before colonisation to highlight the erasure of African culture and history. See? We keep it balanced because decolonising sex should feel that way. The goal? To educate women out of sexual trauma and into pleasure. Fat or not! 2026/11/05
Fifteen years of doctors misdiagnosing and dismissing her. That is how long Ajibola Bamgbose lived in pain before doing the work that finally got her the right diagnosis. In this episode, she and I talk about the road to her endometriosis diagnosis, what chronic pain does to a body and a life, fertility, the myths that people hold about endometriosis, and the friendships that did not survive her diagnosis. She also shares the aftermath of receiving her diagnosis, which came with both grief and gratitude. About Our Guest Ajibola Bamgbose is a Nigerian conflict resolution specialist, women's health advocate, digital creator, and chronic illness survivor. As documented by BBC News Pidgin, she is a high-profile survivor of Tuberculosis (TB) of the bone. She is a prominent voice raising awareness for undiagnosed gynaecological conditions like PMOS and endometriosis through her newsletters, e-books, and social media platforms, including her X profile and Instagram. Through her content, she guides Nigerian women through navigating chronic pain, medical treatment costs, and the emotional toll of living with conditions that are often dismissed or misdiagnosed. She holds a B.Sc. in Peace and Conflict Studies from Federal University Oye-Ekiti, and applies that lens through The Conflict Chick, helping people navigate difficult conversations, relationships, and self-advocacy skills she's drawn on heavily in her own health journey. Based in Nigeria, she continues to build community for women who are unwell but unstoppable. • How Vaginismus Affects Your Mental Health, Relationships, and Your Identity with Elizabeth Adewale
    2026/10/22
Vaginismus is not just a physical condition. It follows you into the mirror, into your relationships, and into your quiet moments. In this episode, Elizabeth Adewale and I talk about what vaginismus does to a woman beyond the physical pain. We get into how vaginismus reshapes the way a woman sees herself and her identity as a sexual being, and what it does to intimate relationships. Purity culture and religion are brought into the conversation, and sit at the base of the shame women often feel when they think their bodies are "failing" them. About Our Guest Elizabeth Adewale is a certified sexuality educator, public health professional, and sexual and reproductive health advocate. She holds a Master’s degree in Public Health and has spent the past five years educating thousands of people on sexual health, pleasure, intimacy, contraception, and reproductive wellbeing through digital platforms, workshops, and partnerships with health organizations. Her work focuses on helping people better understand their bodies, enjoy healthier and more fulfilling intimate relationships, navigate concerns around pain and pleasure, and access evidence-based sexual health information that is practical, accessible, and free from shame.
