• Season 2, EP 6: The Truth About Scaling Your Business
    2025/04/24

Scaling your business is often portrayed as this sexy, glamorous evolution—but the reality is so much deeper (and messier). In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what actually happens when you start to grow: emotionally, structurally, and spiritually. This is the truth about scaling—unfiltered.

Emily Otto discusses the essential truths of scaling a business, particularly for healers and entrepreneurs. She emphasizes the importance of moving away from hourly rates to create comprehensive packages that provide lasting transformation. Emily highlights the need for personal growth, resilience, and confidence in order to stand in one's power while scaling. She also addresses the significance of hiring support, building a team, and maintaining a long-term vision for sustainable growth. The conversation is rich with insights on how to navigate the challenges of scaling while remaining true to one's mission and values.

    • Co-creating experiences and letting go of control can lead to magic and connection.

    • Embracing Surrender: Reflections on a Summer of Transformation
    • "I thought for sure it was going to hatch by the time we came back. We were gone in the desert for 10, 12 days. Calling it a desert is a little too generous. It's a barren wasteland of dust surrounded by mountains and sky. Desert is not really what it is. So the day we came back from Burning Man, the butterfly emerged. What?"
    • "We started the summer in May by being in Greece and having an incredible experience there with a leadership retreat that I was on for my business. And then another week in Santorini, exploring the food, the people, the culture, the land, the hikes we went on were just fabulous. And we ended the summer adventure by going to Burning Man."
    • "So it was an intense experience. worked for the first four days of Burning Man, like six hour to 10 hour shifts, helping get the city placed. So the placement team is basically city planning for Burning Man."
