Where did the idea come from that humanity is constantly moving forward toward a better, freer, more perfect future?

Through Duane's newest presentation, we trace a complicated historical thread through antinomianism, Sabbateanism, Frankism, the French Revolution, utopianism, progressivism, and the emergence of modern internationalism.

The investigation moves through Rabbi Judah Loew ben Bezalel, Rudolf II's Prague, Johannes Kepler, Tycho Brahe, Moses Dobruska, and the intellectual world surrounding early modern Europe, and the transformation of older religious and messianic concepts into increasingly secular visions of human advancement.

- World's Fairs and the cultural promotion of technological and social “progress”

- The relationship between progressivism, utopianism, and centralized authority

Throughout the discussion, we return to several recurring concepts: inversion, antinomianism, universalism, utopianism, and the replacement of traditional social and religious structures with an ever-expanding vision of engineered human progress.

The central question is what happens when “progress” itself becomes an ideology?

And who gets to decide what direction humanity is supposed to be progressing toward?

In this episode, I sit down with Abbe De Vere - author, researcher, and steward of a complex and often controversial legacy.

We explore the deep roots of British nobility, the tightly interwoven nature of aristocratic bloodlines, and the space where documented history begins to blur into mythology. Drawing from her book Inbred Britain, we discuss ideas that have long lived on the fringe, but from a more grounded, terrestrial perspective. We talk about lineage, symbolism, mythology, and the possibility that some of our oldest stories may be rooted in something far more human than we’ve been led to believe.. from both mainstream academia, as well as the alternative fringe.
