  • Chapter Eleven: The Non-Linear Path of Recovery (Part Two)

The picture goes like this. Day one is the worst day. And every day after that gets a little better. Not dramatically better, but steadily better. A little more range of motion each week. A little more strength each month. A little more confidence with each passing session. And eventually, after enough steady improvement, you cross a finish line and you're back. Recovery, in this picture, is a straight, upward diagonal line. Bad on the left, good on the right, and every day is one step closer to good.
