Today, welcome Liisa Kovala—an award-winning Finnish Canadian author, book coach, and former teacher who understands the heart of storytelling.

Liisa is the author of Sisu’s Winter War and Surviving Stutthof, and her latest novel, Like Water for Weary Souls, has earned a Global Book Award for Women’s Fiction. She also writes the cozy Hygge (Hoo-Gah) House mystery series under the pen name A. L. Jensen.

As a certified book coach, Liisa helps women bring their stories to life with a blend of compassion, encouragement, and just the right amount of tough love.

After 25 years in the classroom, she now dedicates her time to writing, coaching, and inspiring others to reconnect with their creativity and is the co-host of women’s writing retreats and the host of the Women Writing podcast and newsletter
