  • EP 14 Planning Our Walt Disney World Holiday Trip: Restaurants, Shows & Jollywood Nights
    2025/10/03
Join us for episode 14 where we're getting real about planning our December Disney World trip! We're heading down December 7-13 and walking you through exactly how we figure out what to do, where to eat, and what shows to catch. This time around, we're mixing things up - staying at Port Orleans Riverside (a first for us), hitting Jollywood Nights at Hollywood Studios (the whole reason we're going), and trying to snag reservations at places we've never been like Beak & Barrel, Space 220, and that new Geo82 lounge. We break down our must-do restaurants, from old favorites like Nomad Lounge and San Angel Inn to new spots we're dying to try. Plus, we're tackling the Candlelight Processional - debating between Ralph Macchio, Leslie Uggams, or Marlee Matlin as our narrator (tough choice, honestly). We also get into the nitty-gritty of Lightning Lane strategy, park planning, and whether we're actually brave enough to do the Wild Africa Trek at Animal Kingdom (spoiler: Meg might have to deal with rope bridges). And we're definitely doing the monorail gingerbread house hop because those resort decorations are no joke.If you're planning a Disney holiday trip or just curious about how to tackle all the dining reservations, tours, and special events, this episode walks you through our whole process. No fancy jargon - just two people figuring out how to make the most of a week at Disney World during the most magical (and busiest) time of year.Thank you for listening! • EP 9 - Fall Creek Falls Adventure, Because Sometimes Adventure Happens Outside of the Theme Park
    2025/08/28
So we ditched the theme parks for a bit and headed down to Tennessee for a family reunion at Fall Creek Falls State Park. And wow - this place totally blew us away.Picture this: we're talking about a 30,000-acre park with five of Tennessee's tallest waterfalls, all within walking distance. The main falls? 256 feet of pure gorgeous. Sure, the trails are labeled "moderate," but let's be real - you're scrambling over rocks and definitely need those walking sticks. We stayed at their brand new lodge (built in 2021) and honestly, the whole setup was incredible. Lake views from every room, free breakfast with waffle makers, and staff that actually seemed happy to be there. Plus, they don't even charge you to get into the park - how crazy is that? The best part? We discovered there are like 500 waterfalls between eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina. Who knew? And don't get us started on how pet-friendly this place is - dogs everywhere and everyone's cool with it.We're also diving into why state parks are seriously underrated. Like, people think national parks are the only way to go, but sometimes the state park right next door has better amenities and way fewer crowds.Fair warning, though - we had some thoughts about the restaurant food. Nothing terrible, just... meh. But honestly, after hiking down to see a hairless cat (yes, really), mediocre food was the least of our concerns.Next episode, we're tackling all the Disney news that's been exploding lately, including some changes at Disneyland that we're not exactly thrilled about. But that's a whole other story.

    2025/08/14
So, we went to Disneyland for Rob's birthday and honestly? What a trip. We're breaking down everything - from our super walkable hotel (shoutout to the Hilton Garden Inn) to that random brewery we stumbled into at Downtown Disney. And can we talk about how many rides we actually managed to squeeze in? Because apparently, we're overachievers now.We hit everything from Pirates to Toon Town, grabbed Beignets like proper tourists, and somehow made it through Galaxy's Edge without spending our kids' college funds. No sugar-coating here - just the honest truth about what worked, what didn't, and whether Disneyland is actually worth it for a birthday celebration.Love the show?
