このコンテンツについて

Welcome to The Conditional Release Program, a podcast that delves into the netherworld of cults, crims and con artists.

Who would have thought a spicy chest cough would turn everyone so completely mad?

Our weekly show covers the conspiracy theorists that created a 'shadow pandemic' of political idiocy and violent ideation within the fringe of politics.

From time to time we get our hands even dirtier with true crime deep dives. Jack is a seasoned expert in the true crime genre, having written and spoken extensively about Roger Rogerson, Stan 'the man' Smith and, of course, the Fine Cotton Fiasco. In various episodes he guides us through the dark underbelly of Australian crime in his trademark storytelling style.

The world is getting weird and we are getting weird with it. Let's watch as democracy crumbles into a smouldering heap - and take note of the kids carrying the matches and the metho.

Hosted by Jack the Insider and Joel Hill with an occasional rotation of guests that generally share our distaste toward the lunatic fringe.

  • Episode 188 - Beck's Story
    2025/07/11

Beck Rogers is a 41-year-old wife and mother living in suburban Melbourne. She has decided to share her story - one of protracted sexual abuse, manipulation and coercive control at the hands of her father over more than three decades. Beck had the courage to persist and the courage to finally the end the abuse.

She is telling her story in interview with Peter Hoysted in the hope other victims might come forward and end the cycle of abuse. This is not an easy listen but an important one.

One in 10 Australians experience sexual abuse at the hands of a family member. Beck wants them to know there is a way out.

Victims can seek justice and become survivors.

  • Episode 187 - The Pain of ME/CFS
    2025/07/03

Jack interviews Peter McCluskey - a full time carer and volunteer with EMERGE Australia, a support group for sufferers of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), a complex, long-term illness characterised by severe fatigue that is not relieved by rest, joint pain, multiple food allergies, dizziness, sensitivity to light, touch and sound.

Peter’s wife, Jen, was first diagnosed with ME/CFS in 1993.

Peter outlines the struggles his wife has had to manage over the last three decades. The condition is exacerbated by medical health professionals who often believe ME/CFS is a psychosomatic syndrome. Poor and out-dated advice from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners continues to worsen the symptoms for sufferers of this debilitating illness.

The advice remains in place in Australia despite changes to treatment in the UK and the US. Sufferers are often bed bound for much of their lives. They find it extremely difficult to access government support, including disability pensions and the NDIS.
