  • High-Functioning Is Not the Same as Okay
    2026/09/29

You can be exhausted and still answer the email.

You can be overwhelmed and still show up for everybody else.

You can be carrying more than you probably should and still look completely fine from the outside.

    That’s the trap.

In Episode 4 of The Comeback: Real Life Sh!t, I’m talking about what it means to be “high-functioning” when functioning well becomes the very thing that keeps people, including you, from realizing how tired you actually are.

This isn’t an episode where I pretend I’ve figured out the perfect balance. I haven’t.

It’s a conversation about being capable, being dependable, being the person who handles things, and realizing that sometimes those qualities can make it incredibly easy to hide in plain sight.

At some point, we have to ask ourselves a harder question:

Am I actually okay, or am I just really good at functioning when I’m not?

  • Everybody Wants You to Win Until You Set the Price
    2026/09/23

Everybody wants you to win until you set the price.

In Episode 3 of The Comeback: Real Life Sh!t, LaDàna Young starts with her real experience at DaBaby’s No Knife restaurant in Charlotte and turns it into a bigger conversation about pricing, ownership, criticism, support and what it actually costs to build something.

The wait was long. There were launch-day issues. Some things could have been communicated better. And the food was bomb. All of those things can be true at the same time.

This episode is not an argument for blind support. Customers get to critique service, value and experience. But there is a difference between saying, “That’s too expensive for me,” and deciding a business owner should not be allowed to charge what they believe their product, labor, overhead and risk are worth.

LaDàna also gets into the pressure we put on local and minority-owned businesses, the expectations celebrity businesses carry, and why supporting somebody who is building does not require turning off your critical thinking.

    Your comeback assignment:

If you own a business, finish these two sentences:

The price I have been afraid to charge is…

    The reason I keep second-guessing it is…

Then make one honest pricing adjustment within the next seven days.

If you are the customer, the next time you catch yourself saying, “They shouldn’t charge that,” try: “That’s not for me.”

After you listen, comment one word under the episode post: BUILDING.

  • I Owe Myself An Apology
    2026/09/16

I owe myself an apology—not because I failed, but because I got so good at surviving that I started calling it living.

In Episode 2 of The Comeback: Real Life Sh!t, LaDàna Young turns the microphone inward for an honest reckoning with the woman who learned to handle everything. She explores what happens when exhaustion gets mistaken for ambition, being needed becomes proof of worth, and survival mode becomes a permanent address.

This is not about blaming the version of you who survived. It is about honoring her, thanking her and finally relieving her of duty. Because an apology without changed behavior is just a speech—and living requires more than making it through another day.

Your comeback assignment: finish these two sentences:

    • I owe myself an apology for…
    • I will begin making it right by…

Then take one honest action within the next 24 hours. After you listen, leave one word under the episode post: LIVING.
