  • Tim Stevens: The Singing Activist - Melody and the Mission
    2026/01/15
Tim Stevens wasn’t just a Pittsburgh musician—he was a voice for the city in every sense of the word. By day, Stevens worked in the trenches of change: a Hill District native who became a leader in civil rights and Black political empowerment, serving as Executive Director of the Pittsburgh NAACP and later President of the Pittsburgh branch for a full decade. But when the sun went down, he stepped into a different kind of spotlight—crooning jazz, blues, and pop with a rich, throaty voice in clubs that carried the soul of old Pittsburgh.

In this episode, we trace the rare double-life of a man who could move a crowd with a song… then move a city with a speech. From his roots at Trinity AME Church to the creation of the Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP), Tim Stevens lived at the intersection of music, power, and purpose—and left a legacy that still echoes through Pittsburgh.

  • Tina Daniels: Heart, Heat, and Pittsburgh Rock ‘n’ Roll
    2026/01/15
Tina Daniels has spent the last decade becoming one of Pittsburgh’s go-to live-rock forces—fronting a band built for packed rooms, big singalongs, and the kind of “oh man, I forgot how much I love this song” moments that hit the second they kick in. The Tina Daniels Band delivers a wide-span set of rock favorites, leaning into the hits people don’t always hear anymore—but still know every word to once the chorus lands. It’s high-energy, crowd-friendly, and all about that sweet spot between nostalgia and adrenaline. If you’re looking for a night of guitars up front, voices loud, and a dance floor that doesn’t quit… this is the one.
