Michael is learning how to make money at online poker, having analyzed various odds and putting his ideas into practice in the different types of tournaments.  We discuss the spectrum of gambling from stocks to bitcoin to NFT’s and the similarities of each.  Neither of us feel comfortable yet calling the bottom of this crash in the market and in the triple-leveraged NASDAQ.  Diana explained why she got back into the stock market – the sure thing with Twitter – but the fact that waiting for her deposit to clear in Schwab eliminated her chance to participate in it. Should have gone with Robinhood. Finally, we discuss a few of the goods and services we’ve made use of this week and what we would cut out of our budgets due to inflation and whether they are traded.  

And we ran out of time – sorry Michael, no time to discuss “One Piece”. Maybe next week.

We are dipping our toes into trading again after a year off – and losing money due to two years of Los Angeles being shut down (and other things) – not going to discuss politics. Michael decided to quit and try online poker.  I bought some indexes after a call in TQQQ went South, putting a little money in a Roth IRA.

Michael does a deep dive on online poker using his game theory background.  He also made a little money designing and posting a small online game on steam—CAT CLICKER.  I keep making some spare cash at TESLACHICK WATERLESS CAR WASH – and have learned a lot about using a side business to make extra cash while expensing what is legal with the IRS.

We talked about our move cross country, tornadoes and a series of unfortunate events in New Mexico, as well as what became of our once upscale neighborhood in North Hollywood, California.

And we ran out of time – sorry Michael, no time to discuss “One Piece”. Maybe next week.

Current Events:
We have returned to simple day and swing trading of TQQQ (triple-leveraged NASDAQ).  We did extensive work on Excel spreadsheets together and separately and learned some trends and how reliable they are (such as buying on Friday and selling on Monday—and avoiding Thursdays and Holidays!). Robinhood is being sued by Massachusetts in an effort to remove their license.

How To: Laying out a detailed spreadsheet takes a lot of time and patience but, if you want to recognize trends, there is nothing like hard work.  Long-term options seem less risky, buying on the way down gets you a better call price, and Robinhood’s markup is NOT forgiving like Schwab’s.  They are rumored to facilitate trades between members NOT on the open market which puts members at a disadvantage.  Advantage of Robinhood, however, is that their App is very user friendly and current (yet not without flaws).

Trading Psychology:
We found arguing with one another to test our conviction level was VERY beneficial.

I nailed it last week and break down in detail how and why what I did worked.  Full detail and charts of what might have happened differently and once again why I trade options and not stocks and why I day trade instead of invest.

I realized what was holding me back – the need to preserve my day trading status and “FOMO” – Fear of Missing Out – and how I got over it!

Breaking down one of “The Machine” charts (the charts I made comparing exponential moving averages) and what to look for with detailed highlighted charts in the YouTube version of this podcast – that of MP Materials.

Trading Psychology:
You see what you want to see when looking at difficult charts. Don’t be fooled by ‘the news’ which is usually an attempt at manipulation.  I decide to day trade three times a week for 20% each time then quit and relax.
