Creative industries have generally been a no-go area for a lot of South Asian/Brown people due to the volatility of the markets, the potential instability of earnings, and the stigmas or views associated with those industries but, as we hear from the people on today's show, it's not all bad and there is success on the other side.

Research conducted in 2021 by the American Survey Center reported that 15% of men claim they have no close friends, a 12% increase since 1990. Equimundo published a study in 2023 that found a majority of men from Millennials to Gen Z agree with the statement, “No one really knows me well.”

Loneliness and social isolation can, for example, increase the risk of developing cardiovascular disease by nearly one third. This is partly due to the influence of physiological mechanisms, such as activation of the stress response and inflammation that loneliness triggers. Loneliness also increases the risk of high blood pressure, a leading cause of death from cardiovascular disease.
