Brett kicks off the program talking about the emotional and significant release of Eden Alexander, the longest-held hostage by Hamas. He expresses deep empathy for the victim’s family and the unimaginable anguish they endured. Brett emphasizes that holding civilians as ransom is a war crime and strongly denounces the October 7th attacks, describing them as targeted assaults on innocent people. He contrasts the values of Israel—where religious freedom thrives—with the oppressive, violent tactics of terrorist groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.

Reflecting on the team’s history—from Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning to more recent highs with Kemba Walker—they discuss how securing the number one pick could reignite Charlotte’s basketball legacy. The conversation then pivots to politics, as they analyze reports that Donald Trump may acquire a luxury jet from Qatar. Bo shares insights from his interview with Mick Mulvaney, highlighting the complexities of retrofitting such an aircraft to presidential standards and speculating on Trump’s true intentions—whether to use it as Air Force One, a future museum centerpiece, or a negotiating chip with Boeing.

  • ICE Facility Fiascos and More on The Brett Winterble Show
    2025/05/09

Tune in here to this Friday edition of the Brett Winterble Show!

Brett kicks off the show with Pete Kaliner for this week's Friday Hangover; they discuss Joe Biden’s public appearances, cognitive state, and the role of First Lady Jill Biden. Using a humorous and satirical tone, they compare Biden’s situation to NFL coach Bill Belichick's relationship with his significantly younger girlfriend, Jordan Hudson. Drawing on syllogisms and pop culture references—from The View to Edith Wilson—they suggest both men are being managed or propped up by the women in their lives.

Bo Thompson is also here for this Friday's edition of Crossing The Streams! Brett and Bo talk about Bo’s participation in the upcoming Meck Mile, where he’ll run in a media division heat at Memorial Stadium, emphasizing fitness over competition. The conversation shifts to a bizarre news story involving three members of Congress and the Newark mayor allegedly trespassing at an ICE facility—an event Brett critiques as a publicity stunt fueled by social media culture. They reflect on how politicians increasingly use viral moments to gain attention rather than working through official channels. Bo also shares what he and Beth Have coming up next week on Good Morning BT.
