    Introduction

    A. Matt 4:17, Matt 10:5-7 repent for the Kingdom is at hand.

    C. Teaching in Parables, Matt 13:1-3

    1. Purpose: Matthew 13:10-18

    a. To reveal truth to the disciples

    b. To conceal truth from the masses

    c. To fulfill prophecy

    II. The Parables

    A. The Sower: Matt 13:3-9 (Meaning vs 20-23)

    1. The Sower is Jesus, the seed is the gospel, the soil is the heart of the receiver of the gospel seed. Some seeds will be fruitless and some will be fruitful.

    2. The gospel seed will be opposed by the devil, the flesh, and the cares of the world.

    B. The Wheat and the Weeds: Matthew 13:24-30 (Meaning vs 36-43)

    1. There’s going to be saved and unsaved living right beside each other. The sheep and goat judgment in Matthew 25

    C. The Mustard Seed: verses 31-32

    1. There will be an abnormal external growth of Christendom

    D. The Parable of the Leaven: Matt 13:33

    1. Christendom, as it grows, will also experience ever increasing internal corruption as the age progresses

    E. The Parable of the Hidden Treasure: Matt 13:44

    1. The field is the world, the man is Jesus, Israel is the hidden treasure

    F. The Parable of the Pearl: Matt 13:45-46

    1. The merchant is Jesus, the pearl is the gentile church.

    G. The Parable of the Net: Matt 13:47-50

    1. There will be the existence of the righteous and the wicked together.

    H. The Parable of the New and Old Treasure: Matt 13:51-52

    1. The disciples are to equip the believers with sound teaching and understand the whole Kingdom program.

    2. Those who fall on rocky places are those who hear the gospel, believe it, accept it and are saved

    3. Those who fall among the thorns are also those who believe, but they never seem to be able to overcome the cares of the world

    4. People who believe and are rooted in the Word of God, they overcome the world, and as a result they produce much fruit

    B. The Wheat and the Weeds: Matthew 13:24-30 (Meaning vs 36-43)

    1. Who is the sower? Christ Himself

    2. The enemy is Satan, and the weeds are the sons of the evil one

    3. The reapers are the angels and only at the final judgment, will they separate the good from the bad

    4. The wheat will go into the Kingdom, the weeds will go into hell.

    5. The barn is the Messianic Kingdom and Heaven
