God has given believers not just the right, but the responsibility to exercise His power through spiritual authority. In Isaiah 45:11, God invites us to command Him concerning what is rightfully ours in Christ. Jesus commissioned both the twelve disciples and the seventy others to heal the sick, not just pray for them. The Father provides the power, the Holy Spirit transmits it, and we must learn to put a demand on God's power by exercising our authority. Many believers today lack understanding of their position in Christ and operate from petition rather than authority. Everything comes back to relationship with God's Word and the Holy Spirit, which reveals our true identity and the authority we've been given in Christ.
