These are not ghost stories in the traditional sense; they are accounts of misread maps that lead to valleys that should not exist, of hunting blinds that vanish in the fog leaving only a blood-soaked rifle, of a canoe that drifts out from behind an island with a single empty life jacket floating beside it. Luna reads from the files with a calm that only deepens the dread, her voice the only sound beside the crackle of a fire that does not warm. What unifies these stories is the sense that the Adirondack Park is not a place we visit — it is a place that watches, waits, and occasionally files a report of its own. Some files are marked CLOSED. Others carry a single handwritten note: 'No further inquiry recommended.'
