• Black Cat Counseling: Understanding Trauma & EMDR With Innes Demers
    2025/12/15

Innes Demers is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor based in Southern Maine. This spring, she opened her private practice, Black Cat Counseling LLC, where she provides counseling services to children, adolescents, and adults through both telehealth and in-person sessions at her part-time office in Buxton.

Innes integrates multiple therapeutic approaches in her work and specializes in trauma-focused therapy using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). This evidence-based modality addresses negative cognitions and somatic responses that can develop after traumatic experiences, helping clients reprocess distressing memories through bilateral stimulation to reduce emotional activation and support healing.

Outside of her practice, Innes enjoys spending time on the ski slopes with her husband from late fall through mid-spring. In the warmer months, she can often be found on a nature trail or by the water. She loves reading, writing poetry, and spending time with her black cat, Spectra. Innes is also the author of a poetry chapbook titled Nature Powered Poems.

    2025/12/08

Maegan is the owner of Balanced Business and Bookkeeping in Springvale, Maine, where she helps small businesses thrive through clarity, organization, and smarter financial strategy.
