In That Christ Is One, we delve into the profound legacy of Cyril of Alexandria, a pivotal figure in the Nicene orthodoxy during the heated Christological controversies from Constantinople to Chalcedon. Embracing the teachings of the Cappadocian fathers, Cyril boldly challenged the views of Nestorius, who had controversially modified the liturgy of Constantinople by changing the prayer that honored Mary as the Mother of God. Although Cyril passed away seven years before the Council of Chalcedon, his influential writings and theological insights shaped not only the outcomes of the council but also the future of orthodox Christological thought. Join us as we explore the enduring impact of his contributions. (Summary by Jonathan Lange)Copyright Family and Culture キリスト教 スピリチュアリティ 世界 聖職・福音主義
